Why did they remove the merge cell feature on OneNote when you can do whatever on Word?

That's great but unfortunately doesn't solve the issue if you want to merge cells vertically (not horizontally)

This does indeed look more visually appealing and is fairly straightforward to create.
However, using tables in this manner makes the content of the page far less accessible.
