Thanks Norman for posting. I've been a die-hard Don Felder fan since he first came on scene, and Richie, always great to watch and listen too! Wish I could have been there but this will have to do!

Truly! Don Felder still plays with the same spirit he had over 30 years ago! o.o It sounds like he's recording Hotel California right now. Or the soundtrack to Heavy Metal: The Movie. His sound is still that fresh. I think that's what pisses off the Eagles about him. He's maintained his cool whereas they've each spent all theirs many times over. He's still partying with the likes of Ritchie Sambora whereas their last album was produced by Rick Rubin for Wal-Mart. o.O *shudder*

Terrific !!! The boys honor Stevie Ray's memory nicely, and "Take it Easy" is fantastic, esp Fingers' tasty solo and fills !!

Iv'e always seen frey as a little man complex with a big guitar ..haha!...Now felder ..he was a known guitar slinger way before he met little man frey ...and he did all those great guitar parts ....

The Eagles are not much without Don Felder, their new music proves it.

I agree that Frey is an asshole. I don't think he is a lousy guitarist though. To borrow a phrase from Roger Waters, I think Frey is a perfectly adequate rhythm guitarist. Lead? Not so much :)

I dig how they shared the stage equally with playing, singing, solos, etc.   No monster egos unlike both of the bands they came from.

Bon Jovi has not had a good album since the 1986 Slippery when wet 3rd  album !  Bon Jovi would have truely sucked without Sambora !

Don Felder was instrumental in turning the eagles into  a rock band from a country rock band. He added riffs and power and of course augmented the vocals. He wrote ALL of the music for Hotel California. Thats never been questioned or debated. While he may not have started the band he was a major part of it and if fact was a full 1/5th owner of the eagles name and trademarks. This was a contract initiated by frey / henley in the 1970's. When Leadon and meisner left they relinquished their shares for a lump payment. He NEVER quit nor sold his shares in the partnership. So Henley and frey broke that agreement by taking MORE than their individual thirds. They already make publishing monies  for the songs they wrote and that alone is substantial. Everyone now knows the truth because Glenn Frey said it in the history of the eagles. HE WANTED MORE MONEY. All Felder did was exersize   his right for inquiry to the documents of a company he owned a third of.  Thats why he was fired. and thats why he was awarded 60 million dollars in damages in the settlement. and for your edification, the 1970's contract still stands. it was deemed binding. He now makes his 33 1/3rd share he was entitles to. A contract is a contract. If you signed a contract you'd want your share, no? Don Henley and Glenn frey are incredible, we know that. But greed is a powerful drug. Frey is still Jealous over Henleys massive solo career and earnings of 250 million vs his "measly" 65 million.

I love Fendler as a guitarist and a human being.
