Accidentally drove into a slum in Trafaria (on the south side of the bridge from Lisbon) trying to get to a surf spot and it was like being in little Africa. Dirt roads, shanty huts, roaming people, trash everywhere. Haven't seen anything like that in Europe before. Got out of there quick!

I lived in Lisbon for three years, for a part of middle school and high school.
