Canada is now growing peat moss and harvesting it every 5 years so it is now sustainable and soon other countries can start doing this As well (as long as the environment is suitable)

What do you do if you need a 2 meter moss pole? Cable trying that mesh in 2 sections won't be rigid or strong enough..

How tall do the moss poles have to be before I can separate them? Mine got too tall so i chopped the pole in half. The top part was about 3 feet tall but the new leaves got smaller.

I’ve just began growing monsteras for a couple of months and I wanted to make moss poles for them. I was wondering that since the moss has nutrients do you still need to fertilize the pot once a month?

Thanks for your channel; your work is exemplary. Regarding sphagnum moss, the local hardware store has 2 varieties, both of which say "Sphagnum Peat Moss;" so, am I correctly assuming that is NOT the sustainable variety?
If I'm correct, it is amazingly unconscionable how cheaply we are selling off our environment, in fact, humanity's existence on this planet.
$18 US for 2.2 cu ft & $25 for a similiar sized one at the same store.
😢

any alternative for pvc coated wire mesh? been looking in my country that only has either pvc only, or galvanised mesh without any coating. is your bunnings mesh supposed to be the same rigidity as galvanised mesh?

I made up 6 moss poles last weekend and I've just noticed they already have mould all over them! Ahh! What have I done wrong? I left them to dry inside rather than on the balcony, as it was way too windy that day, did the lack of sun and airflow prevent them from drying out? 😢😢😢 Hoping to spray them with vinegar and water on the balcony and hope for the best...

I was thinking to do something like this with a cedar fence picket and the wire around the front holding the moss. Have you done anything like that? Or has anyone reading this comment done that? Good or bad idea?

How do you personally keep the moss pole damp one you have potted it with the plant? Do you water the pole from the top or do you spray it with a mister?

I am very impressed by your videos and have a subscriber straightaway. I would like to try my hands on making moss poles. There are two selections of coated wire mesh available at Bunnings, the 90cmx5m of 25x25mm and 90cmx5m of 12x12mm, which one do you normally use to make the moss poles?

I'm not sure how he makes it look so easy but my experience has been very different. I can not get mine to stand up straight and watering with the water bottle is virtually impossible because it's so top-heavy, and it needs watered much more often than other plants because it dries out so quickly. I'm glad it works for him and hope it does for you, but I have to try a different approach.

I have several plants that need moss poles and I'm wanting to do so, but have a few questions. 1) I'm in the States, and don't seem to be able to locate coated mesh wire. Is galvanized steel wire suitable? 2) The mesh is about 1/2" and it's about 3' high, but what length rolls do you buy to get your 6 polls made?
