I was just in Italy back in April. We were in Rome, Florence and Venice. I have to say Venice was my favorite city. I loved all the bridges and my favorite place was Burano.

Extremely overpriced hub of tourist traps. Locals are rude and many people working especially gondolas are scammers €100 ride is supposed to last 35 mins and they finish in 15 mins. Overall disappointing experience. Waste of hard-earned money...

So I just recently left venice and I have to say we accidently stumbled upon a vivaldi concert. It was actually incredible and was so happy we discovered it. They apparently perform 4 months (until december) and recommend you see it.
