Is the forest farm a bad one to start with? I love the aesthetic of it from videos ive seen but if it would be too difficult what farms would you reccomend?

in my experience it is best to keep the parsnip seeds and spend the rest of your money on more parsnip. statistically you almost always get more money with the parsnip.

Rng on the traveling merchant year 1 can be so cruel sometimes. Like my last animal product I needed was either a duck egg or a large goat milk. And the merchant had the large goat milk finally in fall, but after I already upgraded the coop and bought a duck, so it was worthless for me now.
Also rng is brutal if you only buy a single fruit tree to unlock the greenhouse, and than a meteor lands on it before it fully grows.

I am team parsnip day 1 so I can for exactly 1 parsnip harvest and potato harvest with 1 day spare

i have one question.. how can i open the inventory? i put so many stuff inside the chest but idk how i can get em back :(

OMG. how did i not know about this add stack button?? so that's the config ur supposed to use for the workbench! i only had access to 2 chests... 3yrs and i learn new things everyday...

Ive crafted a kiln-melted something into a block BUT…….I now have a caption floating above the kiln displaying a faded silver block. The lady “me” is unable to load coal or anything else meltable

The first 15 parsnips seeds are really good, they get you lvl 1 farming the fastest, unlocking the scarecrow. They also line up perfect as you can then buy potatoes or kale (kale for more xp pr. tile watered) and they'll be ready in time for strawberries, you can't fit in 2 harvests of potatoes. My best tip is to scythe as much fiber you can on the first day and plant the mixed seeds you get from it. You can fairly easily get 5-10 free seeds, which will be either parsnips, potatoes or cauliflower.

I never question a single action I take. Accenting year 1 will not be perfect is the perfect way to play. I am only in my year 1 fall , but I am not worried about making mistakes and having fun.

yeah, maybe when I was starting my 5th farm then I would look up powerlevel strats, but for the first time experience it's much more recommended to just play blind, same like dark souls

Don't go for potatoes on day 1, that's a trap. As tempting as the 80 gold and chance to get extra crops sounds, the reality is that at level 0 farming your chance to get extra harvest is a measly 2% and even if you sell all your parsnip seeds and invest it all on potatoes you will only get 13 of those, meanwhile, you can get up to 40 parsnips on day 1(15 initial pack + 25 if you spend all your gold on them), even taking crows into account you will ALWAYS earn more money quicker by planting more parsnips on day 1. Not only that but since the egg festival (The reason you want to raise funds for) is on the 13, that means that you can only have one harvest of potatoes. If you instead hold up until Spring 5, after harvesting your parsnips as well as making some money through fishing, to plant the potatoes then you can get MORE potatoes and have a higher farming level which will up the chances for higher quality and extra harvest which will be ready to sell the day before the aforementioned festival.
The math works.

I just got Stardew, so I’m late to the party but the seasons mechanic feels a bit overwhelming. The idea of “i have to get this done now or I’ll literally have to wait hours until I get another chance” has me so stressed! I guess I just want an easy guide to follow that’ll ensure I make a good profit every season, that way I can mess about without worrying so much.

Quick tip from me, when starting out farm clay (you can find tutorials on YT for this)
You can get tones of money verry early game which really helps to level up your farm quicker. You can also get the backpack by like day 4. It's really useful

I only just found this video, and I have one question. How many in-game years does it normally take for a player to become pretty advanced.

For the first tip about selling parsnips though, you need gold star parsnips for the community center. Don’t most ppl want to complete that in the first year?
