I love what you do here on the channel, it's very enlightening and even welcoming to someone who is interested in becoming a part of the FGC.

ive ran small tournaments here and there and it even then it requires a lot of work and dedication for it to run smoothly. you still need monitors and set ups and in my experience the hardest thing is to remind the players that they are up to play. brackets gotta be set up and you gotta keep the vibe up for players to have fun. having a commentator works wonders as well. It's all very rewarding work though. I've had players thanking me for running one because they weren't near enough to a local scene to play competitively and that's what its about for me.

Honestly, the craziness of anime and comic convention fighting game tournaments was a real fun time in my gaming youth. Also the very early online gaming of Xbox Live with Street Fighter 3, Capcom vs SNK 2, Guilty Geat X2 really was great.

How do you get that many people to come? Fighting games you say? Ah so we're talking about Big booba or Alive 5?

Living in a crappy little town and being a poor ass kid who uses worn down gamepads makes me want to go to these events, even though I'll never win I will still have fun and find other opponents other than my brother

When I got my arcade system called Pandora’s Box (packed with thousands of old school games) last January, I was thinking of why not run a tournament playing old school games. That’s what led me to search a video like this, it’s because I’m figuring out a way to make extra cash (as in a gig); like a $10 cover charge per person when they enter (for example). Speaking of hotel banquet halls, any other banquet hall (like caterers, or Knights Of Columbus) will do the work. I’m also thinking of a gazebo (like for a picnic) at a park, at least equip the projector and panel to play the games under that gazebo.

What are the most important things people look for when looking for a gaming tournament? I am currently a mail carrier but I been saving up to get into gaming locally. Working 12 hour 6 days a week sucks. I love the environment of gaming tournament's.

But the characters you play are drawn from a hat.
