How do you Sleep in Prison?

I've been giving serious consideration to being a corrections officer. I've heard its a very dangerous job. Corrections officer never know if they are going to leave work alive. I've been asking other CO's tips on how to stay alive, but I think its better to ask ex convicts tips on how to stay alive. Exactly how dangerous is this job?

The worst part is waking up in prison after you are dreaming youre at home and then realizing where you really are after you have been fednapped and railroaded by the whole system and you dont know when or if they will ever let you out..true story

Hey Larry- Your little "dream" of floating above the prison may have been a little more than just a dream. Look up the term OBE, or 'Out of Body Experience'. It's not common enough that it's something that simply happens to everyone once in awhile, but it happens often enough that reports are not super rare, either. During the Cold War, and probably to this day, the CIA was using people who could do that to spy on the Soviets and our other enemies, and they were doing the same to us. You'd be surprised how often what a person reports having seen and reality are one in the same, even though the 'viewers' had no possible way to have any advance knowledge on it. It could also be an NDE (Near Death Experience), but that requires you to have died and come back, which isn't impossible without medical intervention, but is quite rare.

I know, I died on 10/28/17, temporarily, obviously, as I'm not typing from the afterlife, and had my own NDE.

I snore. Somehow my wife doesn’t care. I’ve never heard myself snore a day in my life but I’ve heard from my family since I was seven or eight years old that I snore very loud. I think I would get shanked in prison.

This reminds me of that scene on My Cousin Vinnie, where he can't sleep in the country because it's too quiet, but when he's in prison and a riot breaks out making a lot of noise, he sleeps like a baby.

I will admit it, i am a huge snorer which is one of my faults that i am not too proud of but unfortunately there is no way around that except try to alter and sleep in different positions. If i ever end up in prison which i hope is never I hope my cell mate wouldnt bash my head in for that. I know it can be frustrating but its really out of my control. Do you have any advice to counter that and to not make whoever i am near want to kill me? Probably repeatedly saying sorry especially in prison wouldnt cut if it disrupts someones sleep.

Sleep can absolutely destroy you, when I began having undiagnosed ptsd issue I was going 3 days awake, then 5 days, while working full time law enforcement. Took a leave of absence to get things figured out and ended up going a 9 day stretch awake and shot a lady in my living room, who obviously wasn't there but it seemed as real as possible. Finally after trying several different prescription meds, settled on 3 meds that brought be back to reality where I can sleep but it's still strictly mechanical and only after taking meds. Funny, back when I was a kid in the Marines, we could all dose off anywhere anytime in a matter of seconds just to get a couple minutes of sleep. Appreciate your videos!

I hated jail they didn't turn off the lights the beds were not comfortable they were small im 5 6 and barely fit no pillow i had took my 2nd blanket and made a makeshift pillow the cos come in flash thier light ugh

I'm a Navy veteran and know about the "racks" or beds on a ship. They are stacked 3 high, and you don't have room to roll over or sit up in. They may be 6" long, I don't know for sure. They are metal, and the matress is thin.

I was lucky that I'm short and I was thin and fit back then. As a smaller than average person, I still had a comfort issue. I'm sure many of the male sailors had more difficulty sleeping. Tall guys didn't fit in those racks.

The US Navy has terrible sleeping conditions on ships for its sailors. Higher ranking people have it better.

Shipboard life is more freedom than prison, but you are still confined to the ship. Where are you going to go when you are surrounded by water? You also work long hours and are too tired to complain. Those tight-fitting racks are there for sleeping when it's lights out.

i have a friend that is in high security prison he is white hat hacker got 10 and a half years i tried offering him money he turned it down his word i don't want to jail owe u when i get out that does that mean i have autism i also dont believe anything that is said online that he did i met the guy he seems like he did not have a mean bone in his body

Like Metallica said sleep with one eye 👁️ open I did 5 years and I never had any problems sleeping my cell mate was a MS 13 member hit good with him so really had no problems tge whole 5 years

Sounds like you astral projected Larry. Awesome stuff. It's also possible to have that experience without drugs. There are a lot of tutorials out there on how to do it. Whether your consciousness is actually leaving your body or if it's some weird virtual reality hallucination inside your brain, it's really cool either way.

Larry , my mom was a prison guard she told me so many stories.. the thorazine shuffle.. lol she told me about that shit. She said the prisoners protected her because she was a good guard. When any prisoner caused problems it would work its way out because the prisoners would pressure the guy to stop being a dick.

Toilet paper is the best pillow or fold the scratchy bob barker blanket and wrap a towel around your eyes if they dont let you hang sheets for light

I was just in county for a misdemeanor fta warrant over a suspended license (they came to my house) i was in the felony pod. My celly was looking at 30 for attempted murder and whatever his original sent3nce was (parole)

Is it possible to just do your time and mind your own business and never get into any drama in prison or is prison like no matter what eventually you are gonna find yourself between a rock and hard place? Luv the channel man
