Radeon RX 5600 XT vs. GeForce RTX 2060, Which Should You Buy?

I still use an RX 5600 XT Mech OC and was going to buy the 7900 XTX but will wait for rev2.0 now (if fixed)

So which one should i buy?? Gigabyte 5600XT or Gigabyte 2060????

Its been 2 1/2 years since this video and AMD added many significant improvements/features to the 5600XT. Truly, its a different GPU than the one reviewed in this video. FSR/RSR competes well with DLSS and is open source, AMD finally solve its DX11 optimization issues improving performance in games using that API, they improved Open GL performance up to a shocking 80% recently. AMD drivers have been stable as Nvidia for over year. The 5600XT places almost evenly above the 2060 base and below the 2060 Super at about 5% between each way. Features and stability are all but even outside the Nvidia encoder and minimal ray tracing.

As of today buy the 5600 xt its way cheaper on the used market

Right now a brand new 5600XT cost upwards of 900$ USD, who would have known..

I bought a RX 5600 XT in April 2020, before the graphocapalypse. For a while I had issues, especially at startup, but then I tried a really cheap MSi B450M Pro-VHD Max mobo. All the glitches that the 5600 XT and Radeon drivers seemed to have when using the older B350 Tomahawk went away. All other components were the same. To test this, I tried the 5600X on another B350, this one a Gigabyte Gaming WiFi ITX board. Due to its smaller form factor this PC didn't use all the same parts. I started getting the same graphics glitches at startup as before, and eventually the ITX build was giving me a 'bad vga' bios beep code and failing to POST. Yet when the 5600 XT returned to the B450 board, it worked perfectly. It's working right now.

I just don't get it. My old RX 460 also works fine on all these mobos, and is in the ITX system right now, next to the tv in the living room. For the record, thats' what I had to use when I thought I'd killed the 5600 XT during a GPU drought. just so you know, the RX 5600 XT is a slightly better performer. 😏

Your mileage may differ - but my sapphire pulse 5600xt is amazing. It overclocked like a dream and is running on par with a stock 2060 super. I suspect i just got lucky and won the silicon lottery but hell, ill take it.

I bought a 5600XT in August 2020 in AU. 339.00 AUD for Gigbyte OC 2.0. Bought it to play 1080p high refresh and for Cyberpunk. I had zero driver errors and am easily running Tarkov and Warzone with my 3600 Zen. Ryzen 1600 to 3600 AM4 Masterrace ;)

In case anyone is still deciding between these two cards... I had a 5500XT and now have a 5600XT and never once had issues with the cards or drivers. My 5600XT is a Sapphire Pulse which I highly recommend. I plan on upgrading to a 6000 series card as soon as I can but that's just the enthusiast in me and not because my 5600XT isn't performing well. I have a 1440p 144hz monitor and the 5600XT gets well above 60fps in most games I run at High to Ultra settings.
