The Rs3 got blitzed by an old rally car that was designed for off road use. Put the Rs3 against it in a rally (fairs fair) it would do even worse against the old Quattro.

Putting an old fire breathing Quattro like this into a straight line drag race is fairly pointless and a bit of an insult to what the car was built for if I’m honest.

They say these group b cars did 0-60 in 2.5 sec on gravel? I don't buy it.

the sound of the wastegate in the S1 is legendary and unmissable; what would be interesting is to drag vs a current WRC car which have 1.6lt engines and all the latest anti-lag tech.

It was the 928 where they tested the PDK as well.🤓

Love everything about the Audi rally car. Nothing gets close to that engine and exhaust sound. Wow!!! The closest I will get is the 1.8 scale Centauria model car that I am building and it is beautiful. I am nearly finished with its closest rival. The Lancia Stratos rally car. Also in 1.8 scale. Very nice video presentation. I also watched the 5 Audi drag race, which also included the rally car. Amazing!!!

The RS3 could have beaten it in a drag (I know it didn’t) but the difference is that the Quattro could do it on pretty much any surface……. The RS3 would fall apart on rally stage.

I really expected the Rally Car to beat the RS3 off the line due to it's lighter weight, but then be overtaken as the modern car's faster gearchanges and aerodynamics got the better of it...but the opposite happened?!?

what spec was that rally car ? is it realy a group B car that quattro? 500hp is low, Walter Röhrl had 600-700 hp in his group b quattro

Please find one Delta S4 from Group B and do same race. S1 is great car but S4 does not have turbo lag. If I ever have chance and money to buy cars what will be in my garage, that will be Audi S1 and Lancia Delta S4 from Group B, no more no less. Btw, I almost built Fiat Tipo with Delta S4 engine. 1.8 Lancia engine (1.8 L) was swapped into Fiat Tipo previous 2.0 L, 8 valve), turbo was inside but I never able to find Volumex compressor for that engine. At the end I was sell that car after eight yeas drivin him and buy Volvo S40 T4 (1.9 L) from 1999. He have 200 HP/300Nm and plan to do Autotech upgrade to 420 HP. I have accident with him and after damage I was sell that Volvo to one guy ho need that engine for street race. After all of that games with cars and engines, years pass and I'm getting older and calmer, but something doesn't give me peace... I'm currently driving a Volvo C30 1.6D (with some changes) while I'm waiting for an opportunity for an S60 Polestar (my cousin is the boss at the Volvo service). I'm comforted that you'll call me and say here it is, it's yours. Chances are slim, but hope dies last. Who knows...

imagine if the rally car had a DCT , no stopping gear change just constant smooth selection, it would be even faster.
