I have a theory: We can see in Mr.hopps 1 We could see Ruby Esther's Grandchild And also Esther as an old lady, Esther gave Ruby Mr.hopps that haunted her when she was a child and now Ruby tries to survive the demonic toys that haunts Esther. Later on we could see that Esther is dead (i think????) In Mr.Hopps playhouse 2 We could see Esther after she died she lives on into her past life where she has to survive the demonic entity toys. Later on a demon so called entity tries to kill Esther in on of the endings Esther manages to escape the manor raining. What i think happened is Esther died in Mr.hopps 1 and then gets reincarnate into her past life re-living the horror of her past memories where she tries to survive every night. When ruby escapes we could see that Mr.hopps burns down inside the house after it got set on fire never to be seen again until in Mr.hopps playhouse 3 we could see that Ruby and young Esther meets eachother and tried to escape there by fighting the entity by collecting the medallion and all the crystal souls Esther manages to defeat the entiry and suddenly a circle shaped soul (idk who that is) came to her and sends her back to earth. Thats what i got.

I'm surprised shb could resist making the among us joke.

I get that Dee being the cause of it all was the twist..but what was her motivation? She even seems pleasantly surprised that Esther survived gathering the items for the ritual..but doesnt she and Hopps WANT that to happen? Don't they need Esther alive for that part? I guess if not, it was just a way to send the lamb back into the wolves den only to learn it still came back out but it feels moee like a sloppy set up simply for a twist. Very Shyamalan school of writting. I also get this was likley more a of an amature's passion project by the indi games nature and ending. That really felt like part of a middle-schooler's big epic creative writing class story illustrated through deviant art..so yeah..I dont want to be too harsh but at the same time, so much of this game is too good for that! The majority feels very professional and expertly crafted so when we get the really doofy close up animations done like a dbz episode complete with closing eyes/gritting teeth to "power up" and super dumb writing..it feels so jarring..like..really? Were going with that? Esther was the chosen one all along and can use the power of love from her granddaughter to become a superangel but must stay in hell now to gaurd the world from its evil..like..thsi is what a child thinks is some big, deep adult story..it just DOES NOT mesh with a pixel art jumpscare horror. They should have kept the pixel art and not tried the over ambitious animation stuff..they should not have tried to go so hard core with the "twist" and ending that only sacrifice any logic or atmosphere established..I feel they could have even kept the ending mostly the same if they didn't make Esther a Shonen arch angel and just expressed through the stylized still art frames what happened in a more reserved manner like the painting backstory. Show a light comming from Esther and the demon dying without her having glowing eyes and going super orphan God super orphan. Add subtitles or her granddaughter narrating verbally overtop in a hindsight perspective. Change up the reveal of Dee in a way that is more subtle and doesn't seem to create the sense she is self sabotaging.

One thing that when Beverly locked esther , mr hopps killed her? I think it means that mr hopps was mad that esther is locked and hopp cant torture her anymore. And maybe the reason they called Esther perfect bc maybe she was perfect for theyre mission or whatever you call it?

I think ester never kept mr hop but the entity had time to heal after the years then they came back and possessed ester gave mr hop to ruby then killed her because there are 3 reasons why they didn’t keep mr hops 1 he literally just tried to kill her 2 they said ester made mr hop for ruby but if he was kept the mom or dad would’ve seen them 3 why would the entity wait to kill ester
