Why NO ONE Plays: Sheik | Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Its really sad because i love the way shiek moves and the flow of shiek but it takes alot of skill to get good at her but she does no damage

i think she’s a really fun character to play… like she is difficult don’t get me wrong, but it feels so rewarding to win a game with shirk than most characters.

im a sheik main, its hard work, frustrating sometimes even but whenbyou pop off, its disgustingly satisfying

The real answer as to why no one plays Sheik. Because if you get knocked back once, it's over. You HAVE to be dodge quickly or you're dead. That's it.

Sheik is great in a lot of mu but absolutely loses hard in some mus too. She is a duo-main character.

Simply put, Sheik is Joker with a pretty much nonexistent margin of error, and far fewer kill options. Same archetype and similar combo fiend playstyle, but Joker is actually playable online (and just feels better to play)

Also, she's a lightweight that has a hard time killing below 160%. That's not a recipe for a character many people will want to play.

Year late saying this. We all know who Sheik is in the end of OoT. But in Smash Ultimate, they refer to Sheik as he/him, as he was depicted at first in OoT. It's not a nod towards transgenderism, shut up. It's how Zelda evaded Ganondorf over the seven years that Link was asleep in the Sacred Realm by disguising as a sheikah named Sheik.

It’s like a phrase, “the character sucks because the player suck” to the most fitting degree.

Literally all she needs is more damage/knockback on her up air and back air. Everything else can be left alone.

If I can I will either expand on what I said or change it cause I have my own opinion or my opinion has changed cause sometimes I'll leave comments like these and I'm mostly reffering to other people cause again smash community is annoying, but anyway...

Shiek: Very Execution heavy character so much so that I would argue that Shiek is the equivalant of when fighting games often had 1-frame links, which if you are a smasher and don't know what that means, is when you only have one frame to input to get the next hit in the middle of a combo. Miss an input, you drop the combo. Regardless is he a good character? yeah. I would put him in the lower end of high tier which I'm sure void would disagree, but he's wrong because that makes sense. It never made sense to me that in almost every smash game he's been in he is among the best characters because like he's a ninja, the combos in smash 4 and melee hit like a truck and if they had momentum you couldn't really stop it. Shiek being more balanced in raw damage is good and I don't really know why people, including void, sometimes like to complain about that I mean its not like the transition from the previous game ruined her combo game. idk sometimes people like playing a character like this who has always been good because they like winning, and not so much because they like the archetype.

Speaking of reflexes, so basically shiek mains have a sharingan in the equivalent of SSBU. Just saying.

I main Sheik and im definitely not biased or anything😅 but i think she is the pinnacle of what the best character in the game would be if Ultimate was perfectly balanced. She's difficult to play, requires mastery, and doesn't win with gimmicks or cheese- purely skill. Unlike many of the characters above her (looking at you, Steve...)
