the real question that i don’t see anyone ever asking is… HOW OLD ARE THESE CHARACTERS BRO! Like do these people never age?!? That fountain in daybreak town was the fountain of youth or something??

MCU Tony Stark and Anakin Skywalker would be PERFECT for the kh4 storytelling .

They forgot to put FF characters in KH3.
They didn’t need to put FF character’s in KH3 but they could have easily put in Noctis or anyone as cameos. Just to talk to or fight.

FF characters have NEVER played important roles in KH, except Cloud and maybe Squal.

They easily could have had Noctis.

My thoughts on kh4:
- Sora's chain is the same powers that Odin uses to tie up darkness (or evil energy), Odin is Xehanort's master.
- We Will see young Xehanort and Eraqus since they died and moved on to the unreality (I hope)
- Star Wars and Marvel definitely be there.
- More realistic Disney worlds gonna be there like "pocahontas" how the timeline doesn't make sense xD
- Kingdom Hearts might expand to other Japanese titles like Persona
- Imagine having Noctis, Riku and Yozora meet 😂

I personally hope they bring Drive Forms back. That was one of my favorite mechanics in KH2

Ways to implement FF characters without overshadowing KH's story/original characters:
1) Arena battles
2) Side quests / Mini games
3) Optional Boss Fights / Secret bosses
4) Summons
5) Shops
Sure, KH doesn't NEED them, but we WANT them

Personally, I'd rather see Marvel worlds over Star Wars... but I get it, and the themes of Star Wars makes sense... I do hope however, that we FINALLY get a Jungle Book world.

Imagine if we get to see a The Book of Life world, that will be really awesome to see Sora, Donald, and Goofy in the style of Jorge R. Gutierrez, who directed and designed the characters for the movie. (The Book of Life is owned by Fox, and Fox is owned by Disney, so it’s possible to see it.)

Ngl, Star Wars needs to stay way far tf out of Kingdom Hearts, talk about a way to absolutely ruin Kingdom Hearts.

My personal theory about visiting Disney worlds is that Sora will go to sleep and visit them then, hence why the apartment is a hub. Similar to how Riku can sleep and go to Quadratum, Sora can sleep and go to Disney worlds

Honestly I rather Sora with the realistic graphics, and hope they stick with that for the rest of the series. Because I would love to see everyone else with the realistic graphics, but I know they won't keep them unfortunately. Also yeah I wouldn't be surprised if we see 4 like in 2025 at the least or 2026 at the latest because their focus being on final fantasy which makes sense. I think people always forget about that when they complain ya know.

Strelitzia was sent to Quadratum by Luxu, he took the data backup of her heart in the arc and used one of the pods to send her somewhere, potentially to Quadratum. Scientist Terranort was looking for a way to reach that new reality and made a similar machine, using Kairi as a guinea pig, although the experiment did not succeed, she was sent to Destiny Islands.
Sora also didn't die, he was banned from reality for cheating (yes), Y.Xehanort hints to the outcome of those who abuse the Power of Waking as reality itself ejecting them.
So while ending up in Quadratum is an afterlife, I think it's more in an ascension/transcendence kind of way rather than simply dying, not everyone that dies ends up in there, only a select few with very specific circumstances.

Man I really can’t get into the new art style, I miss the cartoony-ness, this just looks like a different final fantasy game.

Why do we think the fire is Hades confronting Goofy and Donald again? Is the Hades Japanese voice actor the same voice in the trailer?

Just hope the combat isnt arse. Scrap KH3 and expand on DDD(with/out cards).

One of the details that really stood out to me is, how can Sora still travel to other worlds, using the apartment as a base of operations, exactly? I thought that he was actually trapped in Quadratum, due to losing his world traversal powers. Abusing the Power of Waking caused nature (or whatever force governs the cosmic ways of the universe) to banish him from his own reality, sending Sora to the Realm of Fiction. Even Sigurd says in the trailer that he "won't be able to return to the world that he came from", or something similar.

Other than that bit of confusion, I am still really hyped for any kind of KH news. Even Missing Link mostly has my attention now, and may very well be the first mobile KH title that I play (if my phone can actually run it). Thanks for this recap video, Cynical!

I think the main reason Nomura is happy to not do more Final Fantasy has something to do with him being taken off FFVERSUS13. This incident happened only after kh2 was made.

What a great refresher! Despite a few interviews and a single announcement trailer, it seems like we got a lot out of it! I didn't realize that. Still, the possibility of a more refined open-world system, a new build mechanic, and the kick-off of a new saga is so exciting. Having been there for the KH3 wait since 2013, its awesome to see all the speculation and theory crafting going into KH4. Hell, I'm using this time to go through and Plat all the KH games. Figured that'd be a good (but painful) pass time. Keep up the great work Cynical!

Idk how anyone could be sick of Xehanort; Young Xehanorts final moments in KH3 might have been some of the most intriguing moments ot the entire series, with him KNOWING Sora's fate from abusing the Power of Waking, so on, so forth. That alone has me hype going "HOW DID HE KNOW THOUGH?!"

to this day i absolutely hate that the mobile games have any weight to the story at all

Do you think Square Enix will make the story of UX and Missing Link more accessible to non mobile gamers in order to be well cought up on the lore before KH4?

I really appreciate the fact that Square Enix, or at least Nomura, keeps an ear close to the ground to what the community is saying in terms of feedback

Reaction Commands are not bad in general,
but there are Reaction Commands that have no substance.
A lot of (but not all) RCs will work without fail by just spamming Triangle, lacking depth.
Like the Hydra boss fight Pegasus Run.

A lightsaber keyblade is going to be sick!!!

Strelitzia being there and explaining that Quadratum is an "Afterworld" made me think that it implies that everyone who has died in the Keyblade war also ended up there.

I think if they do a Star Wars world, I think they’re going to go to Indiana Jones as well
