How To Play Magic: The Gathering (MTG) Learn To Play In About 15 Minutes!

I know everyone here already knows how to play (although according to your playgroup...well, never mind...) but hopefully this can serve as a really good resource to help you teach friends and get them into the game.

I have wanted to make this video for SO LONG. Magic always felt like this arduous, difficult task to try and teach, and I dreamed of about able to have a clear, focussed video tutorial that taught you how to play in (about) 15 minutes. Now, I can give this to the community and the game.

Question: during cleanup step do I discard my cards into the graveyard and do I chose which cards do I discard?

I recently bought a used deck builders toolkit it contains like 400 cards (thou it should contain 285 but I guess the person who owned it before me added more cards) I know the basic gameplay but I'm having an issue with some specifics

I need a good MTGO tutorial cause that goldfish guy is unbearable. I know the basics from arena but just functioning this UI in mtgo is hard for me to learn. Do I have to manually stop my phases/plays unlike in arena at each step?

I'm trying to learn to play with my fiancé (he sent me this video 😂) & it's honestly SO great! I especially love the very clear language & excellent visual cues (bolding/text emphasis, color-coding). So I used to play MTG a long, long time ago. The last time probably in 2003 or 04 so I'd never heard of commander until fairly recently but I have been thinking about getting back into the game so this is a handy brush up.

Is commander limited to going back so many years or no? I play yugioh and pokemon.. only pokemon has card bCkligs such as anything upto sword and shield released is aloud. Need to know if commander only allows upto example 2018?

Creatures are the bread and butter of your deck, unless you’re playing control, in that case removal, counter spells and drawing spells are the bread and butter

my sister sent me this video to help learn so i can play with her and i think i understood what this video said but im scared that i'll fail miserably when i try playing for the first time i know my sister will be nice but idk about others would you say most players are nice to new players?

Man, it's been years since I played (and I only played for a few months) and it seems so much more complicated than I remember.

Before this video I was confused with the game when seeing other people play it but I’ve been thinking of getting into mtg I love how different and the possibilities are almost endless for this game
