D&D needs a new mmo
ОтветитьThat why for me FF14 is awesome. Easy to get into dungeons with people...had moments where I got lost in a dungeon and killed cause I was alone so people had to fight with one DPS less...got no hate, I told them that I got lost (dungeon was a maze) and we had a awesome chat. 2. When I get bored with my main job (Samurai) and wanted to play as a mage I just switch Jobs...no need to make another character and start all over. 3. The story is awesome! only complain I have it that the base game is slow and the story takes time to pick up. they need to fix that cause that's the first impression...the base game. But hoy o hoy et the and of the first DLC I was at the end of my seat cause of the story. I know some will hate on the game cause of dunno...cat people or that its a JRPGMMO or to flashy with the animations.
ОтветитьI played Neverwinter for many hundreds of hours between 2014 and 2018, which is really when it was in its prime. I loved every single thing about it, it's probably the game I've loved most in my whole life. It's heartbreaking to see just how far it's fallen and how much of its quality and enjoyability it's sacrificed to squeeze every penny it can off its shrinking playerbase.
I miss Neverwinter so much
Hey, why is your game so beautiful, mine looks trash :C
ОтветитьI played this game when it first came out. It looked good for the time, gameplay and progression was also ok. I cant remember the details and the names, but there was definitely dungeon-like group content. The best thing was player made dungeons. Such a promising concept, and there were daily quests inciting you to do them, and the popularity ranking system. That had amazing potential.
Things started looking bit more grim once you get introduced to astral diamonds and all the other similar things. Again, not a disaster, but it became clear p2w was more pronounced then in other games of that era. At that time, small sub that gives you access to everything was still a norm, and this looked weird.
Concerning as it was, that wasnt the reason I quit. I got really disappointed with a disaster they had with servers, the kind of I never heard of in other games. Apparently they forgot to program in absolute number when you make a currency exchange. Someone found out that if you type in a negative number when exchanging you get back both the currency you are buying and the one you are selling. Soon the word got out, thousands of people started doing it and sort of broke the game down. The devs then decided to roll back the entire game something like 3 days back, and we lost the progression.
As I just hit the max level and got lucky with some rolls procs whatever, I felt so disappointed to go back a bunch of levels, it became kind of meaningless and I abandoned the game.
Seems like you were picking individual dungeons which is alot harder to get into you're always supposed to pick random to find faster que times. Also you completely skipped the guild system. But yeah this is definitely one of those games you ether like or don't it's not for everyone
Ответитьthe alt key can unlock your cursor
Ответитьi remember playing this game when it came out. it was good, enjoyable but it just was on a losing positiion by having NEVERWINTER in the title.
ОтветитьMy god why did they destroy a DnD mmorpg :-( i been searching for an MMO to get into and play that has that feel with areas for certain levels and that grind i miss..if anyone has a suggestion plz let me know
ОтветитьI've never had so much fun and so much heartbreak for a single game. I have so much more hours in this game than wow and final fantasy XIV combined and the immense dread I ended up feeling with every negative change felt worse that some breakups
Ответитьso much pay 2 win though but fun
ОтветитьThe game had some potential, the developers folly was believing their fan base was dumb as a brick.
Arcade mechanics, big flashy numbers and subsequently avoided like the plague by many.
I thought I was going crazy. I hopped on after 9 years and found a completely different game then I remember.
ОтветитьSecondary character quick-start: Put those blue gems into the SHARED bank account & auction gear, a companion, and a mount (works with the quest, so we can circumvent the green aka weak freebie horse). Does not take 1500 blue gems to start in quality gear AND with mount & healer or guard. 🤗
ОтветитьHow is this game still going? I played it for a year in 2013-14 and it was very average. Elder Scrolls Online came out in 2014 and its miles ahead (and even ESO has a lot of problems really). If you're playing an MMO (Implicitly a huge time sync) at least spend £50 to get a good experience. 1000 hours of your life is worth £50. Please have standards
ОтветитьLooks like mmo developers have no idea how to make a fun playing game.
The only exceptions ive found are fallout 76,
gta5 online ( well, its super arcadey and toxic but what it does right, was guaranteed to be successful due to the formula, gta 4 and san andreas are still better overall. So is mafia 2. )
Thats basically it. Modded skyrim is phenomenal with a friend if you play survival with only 1 life, death is a reset of the entire game so its actually immersive.
Eso was terrible, felt like a ps2 game. Probably would have been successful in 2005.
Lotta online games seem to be designed to play badly, as if its to force gamers to not want the experience. Thats very messed up of developers. Especially since a game like san andreas with mods is still one of the most popular online games today, one so popular that its becoming more widely known and was once thought to be a myth.
as an old player and current player its so sad, this game has pretty much been gutted, i dont understand why but i assume its to save some sort of money, this game had/ has so much potential, for how down hill it is, i still find myself returning
ОтветитьI played Neverwinter years ago before the level cap and back in the day when the game was in its prime it was fun great content insta queue dung its a shame to see it fall so low great vid keep up the good work.
ОтветитьAll those sparkling things that you cant mess with due to your class have a class that can mess with them. As a ranger, i cant use a thievery skill but i can use my nature skill to mess with the glowy green mushrooms. You can mess with most things outside of your class if you get a kit specific to that skillset. The cursor thing is extremely frustrating especially when I want to usemy scrolls of life after dying
ОтветитьI have played MANY different MMOs and purchased this game when it first came out and wasn't Free-to-Play. I wasn't really a fan when first playing it because the characters felt so stiff and janky. I've gone back a few times just to see how it looks and the 3 times I've logged on, it had me restarting the beginning area because the game has had the beginning slightly change. I didn't hear you mention it, but the game, at least, used to, have a PvP arena type feature. The game also used to have a feature that let you CREATE your own missions and then you could post them for others to play. I have never seen an MMO with this type of feature. When creating your own missions, you had many of the features the devs used. You could animate characters meeting and talking to the players (not cinematic style though). You could also have mobs ambush the players. You could link one zone to another to carry on the story.
ОтветитьP2W GARBAGE! GREAT VIDEO THOUGH!
Ответитьjust started after i stoped playing it in 2022 and it still looks good i think and the art style is also pretty good...its afterall not a new game
but if i can see myself playing it 5-6hours every day thats another thing i cant think i would do
but definatly worth to try out atleast once
im at lvl 5 and started to feel " what am i doing " and i agree with this video. will play a bit more but feels like shit
ОтветитьIt’s crazy to see what they did to this game since I used to play it religiously back when the level cap was 60 and maybe I’m more of a nostalgic player but it looked way better before
ОтветитьRecently I wanted to get back into playing mmorpgs, i dont like the camera movement that games like wow and guild wars have (using right click to move camera), I also don't like how many abilities you can have in those games, it's just too damn much. I tried going back to Neverwinter but quickly realized how dead the game is compared to when I used to play a handful of years ago which was a bummer. I ended up playing New World Aeternum and really enjoy it.
Ответитьpwi is a better game
ОтветитьPlenty of other RPG options. Hard pass on this one after reading this video and info you gave us, and reviews discussing the changes in the game for the worse, meaning less challenge to the game. Hate the leveling they decided to go too. Delete. The true original Neverwinter game is still available with all sorts of DLC and mods for nearly endless differing play.
ОтветитьI started neverwinter a few days ago. ngl i never felt the enjoyment i had playing neverwinter especially the smoothness on it
ОтветитьI think that experience is valid for many mmo, g games that old experience changes, fixes, upgrades and new content.
Takes l lot of time to learn, impatience is the main hurdle. All games have and bad points, you either like one o or you don't, if you don't have fun, no game will be good no matter how perfect they may be. I have fun catching Pokemon and killing dragons in D&D, r respect to both.
Games fuckn trash like evey game for the last 15 years fuckn garbage
ОтветитьHe needs to make a new video about if you should play as a new player in 2025...
ОтветитьI’ve been looking for a free to play fantasy MMO
Now that I’ve kinda understand elder scrolls online
No level grind ... sounds good. Might actually try it because of that.
ОтветитьAwww Neverwinter. The &astard child of a D&D game and a phone app. The game that just keeps on taking. Definitely worth checking out, but not worth spending a dime on.
ОтветитьI know what you mean with the lightning blurring effect in the game, one game very close to Neverwinter in terms of looks is Kingdoms of Amalur Re reckoning
ОтветитьBasically Neverwinter was based on the DnD 4th edition... aka the shit edition... where they tried to make it look more like some BS lame game...
ОтветитьIt sounds o me like this is a game for people who don't enjoy the grinding, but just playing around. I would fall into that category. I just want to have something to play, not feel like I have to grind for weeks to get anywhere.
ОтветитьThis game was way better years ago. Between the console launch diverting the devs attention from issues on the pc side. The complete removal of the foundry system which, I and many other players used to create our own campaigns that many players enjoyed and the content bloat later on a lot of people left. It's yet another sad case of the dev team not caring about the community and more about the money generated from whales that are too addicted to care. Don't even get me started on how the economy was ruined by astral diamond purchases and the infamous Caturday Incident. It's fine to leave this one in the past.
Ответитьjust play guildwars 1
ОтветитьWhy can’t i play a dragonborn for free. Why. Dragonborn are one of the only races that aren’t humanlike and i can’t even play the cool dragon guy.
ОтветитьAfter years of playing i can honestly suggest that if you're gonna play this have a group. It's loads of fun bullshitting with friends or family while going through the game. Its not fun to play alone
ОтветитьMan... So many memories. I began playing it a couple of months before they released mod 16 "Undermountain" and I loved it. I genuinely had so much fun and kept playing for almost a year and a half. After mod 19 I stopped playing for a few reasons and took a long break. During that time they have released new mods and updates and I was kinda excited to come back but I was very disappointed by all those things that they have done with the game. I tried to come back two more times after that but at this point unfortunately I just have to accept the fact that Neverwinter is dead. It's just a good warm memorie for me.
ОтветитьYou were lucky to not be in a dungeon tbh. Idk if it’s the same on PC/XBOX, but on PlayStation, if your CP is low or if you’re not doing any good damage/tanking/healing, you’ll get vote kicked out of the dungeon. I’ve experienced that so many times, and, yeah, dungeon queues are ridiculous. You’ll need to recruit via in-game chat..
I’ve played Neverwinter on the PS4 since 2016 all the way up to 2020, and I had no idea that they removed the EXP bar and implemented levelling up by completing quests in 2021! That’s ridiculous!
Neverwinter does become super grindy late game, with you just farming dungeons for stronger gear and Astral Diamonds. That, and just doing daily and weekly quests to progress in the campaign rewards.. Ah, the memories…
I see - they went woke lol. Great way to destroy the game as usual
ОтветитьThe monetization of the game is extremely predatory. Cryptic is even slimier than EA.
ОтветитьThe game was never great. People look back with nostalgia with NW. It was definitely better back in like the first few modules. But its a heavily pay to win dumpster fire nowadays.
ОтветитьActually, paylocked in this game just means a little extra grind for AD currency. I've already bought 2 months of VIP and the Dragonborn Race unlock in like 40 hours total of just progressing on 2 characters. I'm loving it so far as a new player in '25
ОтветитьLong leveling systems are great, unless you have level scaling. Scaling absolutely takes away the whole progression feeling. Imagine accidentally running into a zone you had no business in. You get insta-ganked and know not to go tbere again, or you could press through the zone and get faster xp than at level mobs. Also, imagine fighting an annoying group of mobs at level, then when you're finished with endgame content going back and spamming the mobs mindlessly while hanging out with PCs. Loot farms, old content farming, etc.. everything got ruined with the introduction of level Scaling
ОтветитьWhy did you not just pick the random dungeon option in the queueing system? Haven't played in years, but iirc that was the standard way for dungeon runs and always was quite fast.
Ответить
