Thank you for this video. Comparing my skills with others kept away from shooting. I was just buying new gears instead, just to be as good as them😢
ОтветитьGreat mistakes explanation, we all make them and still will be, great job dude 👍🏼 👏🏼 👌🏼
ОтветитьBiggest mistake...you push record, but it's not recording. Always check to make sure.
Ответитьyoure amazing! helped me out a lot with all these tips! and you have the same humor as me XD
ОтветитьCan a shy introverted person be successful at beginning a wedding film maker?
ОтветитьYou are the sweetest filmmaker I’ve ever watched.
ОтветитьGear is usually heavily weighted. You want good gear. Because an iPhone or GoPro now isn't going to cut it
ОтветитьI think one of the biggest things I've learned over the years is respect toward the brides parents. Most likely, they are paying your fee. I will never call them mom or dad. I always learn their names and get pretty chummy with them. It usually results in a tip but also shows them you aren't treating them like a number which leads to a great review.
ОтветитьI just wanna know if I should record internal all I H265 or external record a different codec
ОтветитьPREACH! LOVE ALL OF THIS
ОтветитьI started making up to 3 cameras, 2 on tripods, one for floating around, standard practice, even when the client's budget doesn't allow for it. I don't have to use all 3 cameras' footage, but it's nice to have it if I need it. It gives me 3 different angles to choose from in the editing, it's nice to have the peace of mind knowing that at least one of those cameras has the coverage and if one camera happens to fail, I can pick up one of the other two and keep shooting.
ОтветитьTwo cameras, even if one is on a tripod, are MANDATORY at weddings. That second camera coverage is so important when the unexpected, like "I'd like to thank ____" during a toast or the pastor ackowledging family and friends during the ceremony happens.
ОтветитьIt really is about capturing faces. Good lighting helps! I like to have an on-camera LED light at all times, to kick in just a hint of fill in situations where there's a lot of backlight and to accentuate sparkle in the bride's dress, necklace and tiara.
Ответитьmistakes I've made: lack of planning, not getting best audio, not traveling "light", wearing too much clothing ( moving around makes me sweat and very uncomfortable), not knowing my gear.
ОтветитьGold ! Thanks for the inspiration
Ответить♥️
ОтветитьReally a great video, man!
ОтветитьLong but amazing
ОтветитьThis video speaks directly to me. Thank you
ОтветитьDefinitely # 2 and #4. Thank you this was very eye encouraging
I had zero training when I started and still compare my self to others and don’t like my work, but I have my own style and keep getting hired so….
Very first tip I felt shots fired 😂😂😂
Awesome video. I’ve definitely made/still make some of these.
super inspiring -! thank you
ОтветитьWow! Great advice and encouragement. Thanks for that! :)
ОтветитьJust a couple of things:
I do disagree with the gear doesn’t matter.
Having that extra camera, gets you another angle, a new lens gives you a new perspective, having a monopod allows higher lower angles, a second recorder gives you another backup. Gear does matter because a wedding is a unknown event, you can plan, but people do things differently, so you plan for the unexpected and gear helps this.
Which brings me to the second point, a live event is exactly that, it flows, it weaves, it has its own mind. You are the fly on the wall recording it. This is how you adapt and make those moments yours. Sometimes something we don’t plan for is our best moment. I do believe we need to put our own artist look on the video as this is our stamp and why people book us.
The thing is, no one knows what we missed or took a bad clip, because we only edit in the good stuff. But it is all exciting!
just say no
ОтветитьI really messed up some shots, since I was using a long lens, the most important shots came out super shaky like really bad, I'm editing the video video and I am just thinking "how did I mess up like this", the vows were so shaky, I had a tripod but it's so weird because the legs are not the same length so I didn't use it at times, so the gear is really important
ОтветитьQuality content 👏🏼👏🏼 thank you
ОтветитьThank you so much man!! Feels so good to know that I am not alone with all these thoughts. Of course I'm not. But many times I feel like a one man army. And it's a lot to lift.
Currently editing my first serious wedding video. so far i'm pretty happy about what I created. But it's different from day to day from scene to scene. I'm very close to the finish line and again I feel so overwhelmed with the edit. I think the main things that blocks me is finding the right music that captures all of the emotions and creates the right feeling and message.
Coz having edited everything and then eventually see that you have chosen the wrong music makes you start allover again. And that's a killer.
I really like the way you present the issues and yourself in the videos. Thank you. I very much appreciate it. I'm sure you are a wonderful videographer to work with.
Have a great summer. much love from Berlin, Germany.
Im still trying to learn..so imma keep using my phone..😅 for now . . Someday . .
Ответитьman your shots are dark
ОтветитьAbsolutely love this vid. Thanks for the encouragement & motivation.
Ответитьthanks for sharing
ОтветитьGreat video! I really enjoy it!
ОтветитьExcellent presentation, great tutorials!
Ответитьabout to film for the first time tomorrow :/ this advice was the best of everything ive binged so far. thanks
Ответитьfacts with the its not about you part. theres some couples that do not want to do anything or get any content and you just have to get creative.
ОтветитьI'm just watching this and wow. The insecurity part got me good. That is me, I have been doing this for 9 years and have been feeling this empty feeling of negativity. Almost as if my work is not good enough. Thank you for this.
Ответить#1 - shut up shut up shut up! Flee from me 😄🤦🙃😄
Ответитьalso I want to say this was a fantastic video you did put out some really good advice..
ОтветитьGood tips and reminders, what lens you use on your couple shoots?
ОтветитьHow does your footage look so cinematic? Is it just the color correction? I'm using a GH5s to shoot weddings. Thanks!
ОтветитьThank you so much for your his video!
ОтветитьGreat tips! Getting away from, my business is something I've been learning lately, so I got into sailing! It's awesome to completely disconnect sometimes.
ОтветитьHey @Waymard , Nice channel , love your videos
Ответить❤️❤️❤️
ОтветитьQuestion: Where do you get your music from? (for this video and for your wedding films)
ОтветитьI’m watching most of your videos right now. My friend asked me to record there wedding and I don’t got the best camera. But it’s their wedding gift and it’s free. I have some idea of what to do. But taking your tips helps. I say I’m more stressed because I’m in the wedding so it’s kind of hard to record one and be in one. But I’m going to try my best at this maybe this will open a door. Who knows. Have you ever recorded a wedding that you was in
ОтветитьHonestly I thought this was going to be a video being harsh about mistakes we as wedding videographers make constantly but it was actually a real encouraging video :) thanks !
ОтветитьTHis video was great and it applied to me. Thanks for making it
