My reserve unit did opfor (opposition force) for a ranger battalion and the way those dudes move is crazy this guy describing hanging out a chopper spraying down on the opfor, made me remember being on a road trying to ambush them and little bird showing up with dudes on the side lighting us up. 😂 good times.

Little did they know there was a flight medic on board :)

It should be clarified that the major setting if Metal Gear Solid as a series is a world where wars lasted longer and the technology developed during wartime exceeded far beyond the technology that actually should have at the time, but with the same stylizations of the tech that actually existed. Hence the Hologram Walkman Radio lol

Anasthetics work in seconds if injected into the blood stream.

I went through army basic training in 2007, and there was only one occasion that wore our dress greens. That was to take or individual photos. Obviously you would keep any if you wanted, but it would also be the photo picture they would use at your funeral in the event of your untimely death. Morbid, I know, but there was a funny aspect to it. Since the photo is only of your upper body, that's all we were told to wear.
So it was 200ish guys were standing around sporting a thick coat on top, and some skimpy black shorts. It was a pretty funny sight to see.

The dart gun is hard to use at a distance and you have to account for bullet drop

It's funny how the game only slightly punishes you for being stealthy and not killing. If you do headshots with the dart gun enough they'll wear helmets. If you go in at night often, they'll wear NVG's. Very unique way to influence different ways to play each time you set out on a mission and promote adapting to different conditions on site. Plus you can send out soldiers you aquire to sabotage helmet supplies, flashlights, shields, etc. I fucking love this game.

For a sleeper dart, you could conceivably use ketamine, but you'd probably wind up killing someone. The Russian military tried using aerosolized fentanyl to knock people out during a hostage situation, and it wound up killing 2 of the hostages, which just illustrates the danger of trying to use tranquilizer darts on people.
