How to Turn On or Turn Off Emergency Alerts on Android Phone

My galaxy note20 says national alerts cannot be turned off🫣

Nope. LG doesn't recognize the word emergency, or emergency alerts. Alerts, yes, but goes to hearing and no options available for disabling anything other than muting everything. I know my phone use to have it bc I'd set it to disable all emergency alerts. Until tonight I was shocked when my phone lit up loudly at 1am w/ an amber alert. Not happy w/ this new dis-ability. GA, USA, T-Mobile.

Not very helpful because my phone doesn't find it. Why can't we just say go to setting look here and here then turn off!!

Well I turned off all my alerts yesterday and today be October 4th the national alert came through regardless of that being turned off it obviously did override it what good is having a feature if you cannot control your privacy?

You can't stop it from happening lol. It is a way for gov authorities to track every human being with an electronic device. They don't care about warning us about emergencies lol 😆 wake up

I got a t mobile android phone LG k30 I look everywhere I still can't find how to turn them off very frustrating

There is no option for me to turn mine off, it simply won't let me, the button is greyed out.

Canadian cellular providers have a special firmware that bypass the alert setting... it will always go off

Searching "emergency" comes back with nothing. Searching "alerts" comes back with "General>Accessibility>Hearing>Flash alerts", "Network>NFC>Tag reading" and "Sound>Flash alert". None of these have any option for Amber alerts or emergency alerts in general.

There are so many different versions of Android it difficult to find various features. I appreciated the tip about using the search function. It allowed me to quickly find the function for which I was looking. Thanks.

This does not work. The only way to stop the very annoying intrusion is to shut off the phone. I will find a way to disable annoying gov alerts. I don't need to be awakened by Amber alerts ever!!!
