So cool! Great job!!!! I’ve got a 22R Toyota that just hit 200K so not touching that baby BUT I’ve been thinking about this with an engine for EV West for a mid 80s 4Runner. This looks even better though I’m just wondering about the brakes. Did y’all do a conversion with that? I’ve heard they can be problematic with conversions.
Btw I once brought this idea up in an environmental science lecture in 2014 as the speaker was comparing C02 emissions of a brand new Prius (with the whole manufacturing process) to a older gasoline vehicle.
I curiously said: “why can’t we just take older cars and swap out the gas engines with electric ones?”.
He said it was impossible, and it would never happen. I was young and naive, now I say f*ck the naysayers - they’ll always exist.
Why would changing motors affect the suspension? It shouldnt
ОтветитьJust buy a battery-powered golf cart.
ОтветитьShould have left the 22R, put the electric motor in front of the rear dif and the battery in the bed. Use the 22R as a generator.
ОтветитьA faster 0 to 60 mph is not an improvement to transportation.
ОтветитьAnd it's stick shift!!!!
ОтветитьI have a 64 International Scout I'd love to EV convert...too rich for my blood though
ОтветитьSuch an amazing job!!! I love my 04 Silverado regular cab and wish I knew half of what you all do so I could be brave enough to turn it into an EV and give it new life :)
Thanks for video!
I can't believe 😢
ОтветитьMy dad has the exact same toyota except his has the long bed which is 90% bondo and wood lol. Is there a place that makes beds for the early 80s Toyota trucks?
ОтветитьI have a 2005 dodge ram 1500 4x4 crew cab. I'd like this kit, but I'd want a hybrid version.
ОтветитьI was just going to comment how are you not referencing Marty McFly in back to the Future 3, and then you did. Subscriber earned
Ответитьtovolta
Ответитьi would have thought that would have been a direct drive from the motor, no transmission. Just a transfer case to the front diff.
ОтветитьHow much to do itfor a 02 tacoma? And what's the range?
ОтветитьAwesome project but I'd keep an eye on the trany with all that torque.
ОтветитьNice project but I bet that tranny will not last with all that torque.
ОтветитьThere's room for 3 electric motors in that Hilux, now you have TRI-POWER 0 - 60 in 3 seconds 😁😁😁😁 range 50 miles 😢😥😥
ОтветитьMy 1993 Toyota 22RE needs the 2nd Block Rebuilding, got quoted $1,800 but i have to remove the block or have mechanic friend do it. Thinking now is the time to Electric Conversion, if i get motors on both Axles it will be AWD right now is RWD.
ОтветитьЗдравствуйте. Где можно купить, это оборудование
ОтветитьA 4x4 conversion how much costxincluding all details
ОтветитьHi, can u do this to a 2009 ram 1500 3.7m
ОтветитьSoooooooooooo frikikin cool !!!!! ... The shifts, the sounds, the power being just right. Well done folks count me in subbed! underrated channel right here.
ОтветитьWould this work with my 521 Datsun truck?
Ответитьcan i have that old engine for free.?
ОтветитьEv are not more reliable
Ответитьi really want to do this to my 2001 GMC 4X4 when the engine gets tired, 180k now
ОтветитьI would like to convert my doge ram Ecodiesel to electric with same system.
what is your contact information?
Add a lumber rack and add solar panels! No need to plug in!
ОтветитьI want one!!! How much to build one???
ОтветитьThat truck does not have a r twenty two motor it has an engine
ОтветитьLOL "IF" it can go to 60 test. Had me dying.
ОтветитьTime waster…EVERY…EV conversion… EVERY..EV CONVERSION…
Cost for all parts
Which battery
Range
Otherwise…. Time waster
What an incredible transformation to a high-voltage EV! What were the most challenging aspects of converting with the Hyper9 motor and Tesla modules? Keep up the fantastic work, and I'm looking forward to more exciting projects from you.
ОтветитьMore reliable than a 22R????? somebody is smoking dope.. .
ОтветитьAt least, if not more reliable? Come on dude, check back with me in 40 years and see where the system is. in 10 years it’ll be junk. I like the EV conversions but that’s just a silly statement.
ОтветитьWhat is the range after the conversion?
Ответитьwant to sell me the old 22r motor?
ОтветитьCool but you guys ruined that truck the way it was would last 300 to 500k miles and could sit for years and years and then with only a little gas you could be driving no electric vehicle can sit for years and years and they all have batteries that are junk after 10 to 15 years max no matter the mileage
ОтветитьLooked thru your channel, saw no promised follow up with tech specs. Want to know kWH of the batteries, range, weight. I figure to get 100 miles range I would need to add at least 1000# of battery (if there was room without using up bed space) - probably more. Until battery/capacitor tech/energy density becomes considerably more capable and affordable, I will just have to stay with the stock ICE - as much as I would like my pickup to be an EV.
ОтветитьWant to do this to my k1500 some day! what is the estimated range on this build? Is fast charging possible?
ОтветитьMan, I should have kept my 1982 SR5 Crew Cab pickup for this project.
ОтветитьI have the numberplate .....E4X4
Ответитьnext, do a toyota fortuner‼😎👍
ОтветитьGuy pulls the motor that has presumably been working in the vehicle sin the 1980's and immediately says the new electric system is more reliable...really....really....sweet build regardless. lol
ОтветитьSounds so futuristic!
ОтветитьThat dude looks like Jimmy Kimmel....
ОтветитьAny estimate on its range?
ОтветитьGood luck trying to find a battery charger up in the mountains and wilderness when off roading! Big deal! So you got 0-60 in 13 sec! Still slow! I rather keep the Toyota motor! It’s not a rocket 🚀 it’s a “Pick up!”
Ответить
