The Last of Us Part II - Platinum Journey

I think i’m ready to play it again, it’s on the 2024 list.

Last of Us II is such a weird game. I had it preordered, then he leaks came out, they canceled my order and I was honestly kinda relieved, because what I had seen was neither what I wanted nor what I expected. You don't just kill off the former protagonist like that and expect people to give the killer a fair chance after that, that's not how it works 90% of the time plus Abby isn't that likeable or approachable to begin with in my opinion.
I played and platinum'd it, but mostly because I started it and I don't like to leave things unfinished, but at least I only bought it on a good sale, like 60% off or something like that, so it wasn't much money wasted if at all.

Then I came back like a year or two later to finish the permadeath and Grounded run, without expectations and in the end it is a pretty decent game on its own, at least for me, if you take it for what it is - a game with a story.
As a sequel to Last of Us I still think it's a bit of a failure or rather not as successful as it could've been if they had taken another route to the same goal.
I'm still not a fan of the story, but it's okay overall. What I don't like however are all these forced walk/explore sections where you have to do one stupid little thing so the game can move on, like why not make it a big (or a few smaller) cutscene(s) and let me skip them if I don't want to do it.
Overall it ranks on the same level as RE6 or Splinter Cell Conviction for me - not great part of the franchise, but a decent game on its own.

This game is really sh*t. I’m really happy I didn’t buy it. When Allie shot her, that is the real ending. Allie just had to kill Abbie’s friend in front of her and then kill her

What I don't understand is that Joel was basically a monster who doomed humanity for his own selfish reason in the 1st game, and lied about it (for years and years) to the one person who should've been able to trust him. Then Ellie's whole crusade for revenge in #2 was ju an obsessive, selfish repetition of the cycle of violence where she destroys her new life with Dina and the kid. But everyone views them as saints.

Abby, however, has a journey of growth to become a better person, and she nearly kills a prgnant woman, and yet she is the worst person in the world. That makes no sense to me...

the stress of starting part 2 and getting through the first couple hours is so relatable haha, I always want to keep replaying the game but only seattle day 1 and beyond

Came back to rewatch this episode. I figured I'd watch something while grinding sekiro. I messed up my save trying to back it up so I could get three endings in one playthrough. I restarted me to the owl father. Luckily he was my last boss before isshin. It sucks though because I will have to spend time grinding coins, and xp for attack power. I hate it so much because I was so happy I finally beat isshin. This will pull me through the grind, and hopefully pull me through to be the owl father and isshin again.

Ano tell me about it…when I bought it I planned on getting the platinum….after my first playthrough I uninstalled the game and never looked back😂

I personally liked that game I thought that killing off Joel the way they did was really brutal I respect the risk they took but I feel like it could’ve been done better

Came back to re watch this. playing this game really put me through an emotional rollercoaster

Playing this game made me tired and sad, whenever I replayed I had to work up energy for this again

My reaction to seeing Joel Died is Heartbreaking, especially after The Death of Sarah Miller is also more emotional from the 1st game.
Although Ellie wanted to end Abby's Life by Drowning Her, She Kept thinking about Accidently Killing Owen and Mel (Who was Pregnant), Thinking about her Child with Dina, & Knowing that Killing Her Doesn't Bring Joel Back

Mel isn’t a liability we all know Manny is, lol.
