Loop Alien: How to Use (Easy)

Not trying to come off as a purist or anything, just trying to understand. What's the benefit of something like this versus just tying a quick slipped tautline hitch or something similar? Seems like it would take a similar amount of time to set this up as it would to tie a hitch, but I have to imagine there's a pro to these

Any reason you chose (larger) amsteel for one side and then (smaller) zing-it for the other side?

Thanks! Will add a few of these to my gear. Working to build up supplies for some hike/bike camping adventures next Spring. Unfortunately the only camping experience I have is playing Army using Uncle Sam gear. Looking forward to enjoying nature on my terms.
