YT needs to take a closer look at her channel and probably restrict, many young girls might try this to get rail thin like Emmie and get many health problems, along with body image problems.

Most dieticians seem to be obsessed with filling their bodies with protein. Most dieticians are wrong.

I am screaming watching this.... This is the difference between a Nutritionist and a REGISTERED DIETITIAN!!! We have more schooling and a 1-2 year internship. Then we take a national board exam.... I cannot handle these videos, it's another reason I don't have tick tok.

Although this is old it’s not so old that you wouldn’t have recognized this diet as the low fat (under 12 %) high carb diet that has been around since at least the 1980’s. If you’re going to go after anyone for this type of diet you should have gone after Dr.’s McDougall, Barnard, Esselstyn etc. rather than this young woman.

Interesting because I'm week 4 SOS. Emmie and her team are amazing! I wish you spoke to the program itself as i think its very professional and organized. Now to the diet, i like it overall. I was never vegan prior. I'm post menopause hashi hypo and am losing weight! I do miss a little fat. I dont miss meat, cheese, but avocado, nut butter, and some dressing would be nice. There is no joy in the diet for sure. Good video!

This is the first video I’m commenting because this diet stunned me in not a good way 😅. We feed animals with high starch and carbs diets to make them grow bigger and more fat, so I don’t know we’re not that different 😂 Second in my culture these wouldn’t count as meals but maybe random things thrown next to each other, if something is not cohesive and seasoned is not a recipe.

Abbey obviously eats a whole lot more overt fats plus added oils…and has not studied the starch solution where thousands of people have kept their weight off for years and are very satisfied and healthy!!! She also does not know enough about the importance of fiber!!! Go back to school and get a different degree. You obviously have not done your research on this subject!!!

Hehe I totally hear what you say but am I the only one who LOVES oats (with soy milk for me) without anything added? And broccoli? Potatoes? to be fair I do sometimes season potatoes but I love them on their own without salt or seasonings
I just feel they are so heavenly tasting on their own that adding anything to them would take away from their taste 😂 im aware im the odd one out😂

There is no "one size fits all" diet. I'm sure there are many people who feel good on this way of eating. It works for some but not for others. You got to try it and see.... Abbey's opinion is just one of many, who says that she is right? When it comes to food, there are soooo many different opinions (from doctors and nutritionists), which one to pick? The one that you can do for the rest of your life and feel good with : )

I ate this way for a year when fighting a losing gallbladder battle. I lost 60 pounds in the first 4 months, I personally ate raw fruits and veggies or a few steamed potatoes until 2pm and lots of water and a coffee with a little vegan creamer. I made a huge starch meal for dinner that I took time to prepare with no oil and a little cashews or avocado for satiety. I completely reversed my autoimmune disease and felt good in my body like a kid again. I ended up losing 100 pounds in a year. Eating oil free 100% eliminates inflammation and is a game changer.

I'm more about having a small to medium plate of food that covers most of the major food groups for dinner, then go for seconds if I'm especially hungry (particularly after a long day in the lab). Anything left over is for my lunch the next day. But typically what I serve up for dinner is more than enough, especially if I'm eyeing up pudding when I'm visiting my parents. Breakfast and lunch are small and quick, and some snacks along the way. So to say 'Yeah, get that second plate' for every meal sounds like the first plate isn't enough!

I myself love plant based meals, love oatmeal & lots of veggies. But as a half german, half greek person I also gotta was that these are th e most boring meals I have seen in a while. No oil, no salt, no nuts, I'd rather go starving! Also, Im a nurse specialised in Diabetes care - this is NOT a balanced diet! I ❤ carbs but this is ridicilous.😅

Hey Abbey, so I’m quite surprised that as a dietitian you didn’t point out that protein is 4 cal/g same as Carbohydrates… which means that adding protein to your breakfast does not actually increase satiety. What is not being said is that it is fat which is 9 cal per gram that increases satiety with less food bc less is needed to cause satiety.
Anyone who has had straight up protein powder drinks with nothing else added but water would know that the drink is not very satiating bc it’s low calorie and there is no fat or fiber added. It’s one or the other that’s going to trigger that feeling of fullness. I agree that adding nuts or seeds to oatmeal adds some healthy fats and is fine, but if someone is concerned with serious weight loss, cutting out extra fat (nuts, seeds, especially oils) would definitely provide quicker results.
Have you considered trying the whole food plant-based high carb diet before you over criticize it? The study you mentioned briefly did not state concrete facts of total CHO cals vs Fat cals per meal. Just a thought.

I do think you can loose weight with this diet, but this is not for long term. Also the food is so bland and boring it's never going to give you satisfaction. Why is Emmy so afraid of fat and protein? She is as skinny as can be.

Thank you so much for this video. And thank you for calling her out on the irresponsible advice she gave.

I benefitted from the program and have kept the weight off. The main things that the program helped me with my relationship with food and adjusting my palate to whole foods. I'm starting to believe that different bodies need different dietary needs so you would have to do your research according to your needs. Hope everyone finds what their bodies needs.

I like Emmie...Abby is incorrect about various information..she is pretty vague and is repeating what most nutritionist have said for years.. the wfpb of balance meals is nothing knew..Emmie explains best as to why we eat the way we do.. which is keep to most meal plans..Emmie has videos explaining portion control..

A hole food plant based diet IT IS HEALTHY and you can try to say the opposite but it has been more than proved in actuall serious long term studies not some keto/carnivore agenda bullshit.
Take care of your heart.

Emmie is great and she has saved me and many more.

She told you what the "something" was lol. Calcium. "Calcium is an alkali, which neutralises excess acid" (<<google search results because I was making sure I understood her correctly). Bad faith implying she's saying nothing or is clueless when it's very obvious what she actually said js.

Body on level is always same because if something acidic enter bloodstream body release minerals from bones, it is why as well is not a good idea to analyse calcium levels in the blood -calcium is crucial for functioning nervous system and therefore live, so always when there is to less of it organism take it from bones...

So would the weight loss that may occur on this diet be from loss of muscle? Far as I know, You need protein (with full amino acid profile) to adequately support muscle. Muscle mass improves metabolism. Strength training builds muscle.

At 38: I think the 'something' that Emmie is perhaps referring to is the potential loss of body calcium, when consuming too much dairy, through the urine? Emmie would no doubt prefer to eat 1 cup of cooked collards or broccoli instead, which contains as much usable calcium as a 6-ounce glass of milk. Personally, I'm pleased to hear studies have shown dairy is ok as I love yoghurt and cottage cheese especially!

the diet seems great for someone who enjoys very large meals. unfortunately the lack.of flavor is a problem.

although I am.sure by not using ANY seasonings? the natural "sweetness' and flavor of the food would become more prominent.

sounds like a good 1 month challenge for abbey! 😂😂😂😂

Abbey is dead wrong on this. Emmie's diet is based on the Mcdougall "starch solution" program, it is the best diet for losing and maintaining weight. I cut out meat, dairy, eggs and oil, while I still eat nuts and seeds - it is not daily and the quantity is not more than a small palm. I am at my best health I ever been and I am in my early 40s.

yes the blood pH part....you CANNOT alter your blood pH by what you put in your mouth. and certainly dairy does not turn your blood in to battery acid all of a sudden😆 for Emmie, a blood calcium test doesn't say much for her bone density eating this way...what would speak more loads in an actual bone density scan. which vegans all eventually will have lessened bone density. get your animal fats and proteins, lift weights and be active, bones will be fantastic
