Age of Empires 4 - The Rus Fast Castle

Very interesting to see this build that absolutely no one uses today. The advantage of this is no one will expect it either. Everyone expects feudal pressure from the Rus and usually creates barracks and spearmen. At the gold level no one pressures the Rus early either. So most of the time you'll be just fine going naked with this build, you'll get most of the relics against most Civs and your horse archers will do lots of damage from range and can run from unfavourable fights.

Yeah years later, in season six or seven, are there any variations to this we need to know for it's viability?

One question, where do you get your food from when u eventually run out of deer carcases ? And at what point should you invest in gold mining, and what is the ''basic'''army for RUS, like good combos etc?

Was this before or after the GTA Rus nerf?

aren't we supposed to use the early knights( as RUS) since we get them faster than others?

I prefer Rus fast castle build to feudal aggression, that BeastyQT demonstrates. Professional scouts is fun a lot, and you have not to risk your villagers on feudal boars. Also, russian FC is very tempo in the race for reliques.

could just right click TC and the scouts will drop the deer at the perimeter, very close, very nice. no need to "e" place them

Very nice tutorial. All is good although there is always an factor enemy scout killing deer herds on map before you get there.

Noob question , but how does the scout keep hitting next after next deer? I am doing it exactly like the vid and it still goes for a single target.

what can i do with multiple relics? I know you can place one into the durch to generate ressources but for what do i need more? Can i place more then 1 relics on my curch for more income?

It would be awesome if build order videos had a quick-n-dirty list in the description. Not that I am not thankful for your content, but sometimes I just want to jump into a new civ and play with a semi-competent build order right away without having to watch the vid all the way through.

is there ever a point when the rus should go into farms? they most definitely have the wood production for it and increased food gathering from their bounty system.

@Aussie_Drongo you could like with your casted and played games put a icon in the top right and have it be a hammer and chisel in a X formation or something like that maybe even just a hammer would look good :)

Now do you research any of the gathering upgrades other than professional scouts? Are you getting forestry? Or any of the econ upgrades? Because that costs a lot early on so it would slow you down a little bit. Or do you not get those at all until later?

Against the English rush I like to include a small wall to protect my woodline. Or another fortress to garrison in.

I'd love to see you apply this against a real player with your famous commentry.
