Sonic knows that Tangle exists in Frontiers, which means that it takes place in the same timeline as IDW, which means that every game except 06 now takes place in one big ugly mutated timeline full of retcons just as depicted in IDW, or THE SAME timeline as IDW, wouldn't surprise me since sega is uniformizing the franchise

Sonic the Hedgehog was my first ever video game.
I'll never forget getting Sonic 1, 2, and 3 with a Sega Genesis 3 for Christmas when I was 5.
Here I am years later, and the only other franchise to hold an equal place of love, reverence, and appreciation that Sonic will always hold is LoZ.
My son is 5, and the occasions he specifically asks to play any Sonic or LoZ absolutely melt me.

Classic Chaotix is confirmed canon with the recent Tailstube video

This video is really cool, I return to it from time to time, though I have one problem with Sonic 3's placement on the timeline. I don't really understand why it's considered that Sonic 3 happened IMMEDIATELY after Sonic 2 since if you think about it, that doesn't make much sense. I find that hard to believe that in few dozens of minutes which took Sonic and Tails to find Angel Island, Robotnik managed to:
- Meet Knuckles
- Gain his trust and then lie to him about Sonic and Tails and their intentions
- Learn about Master Emerald
- Build Carnival Night Zone
- Build Launch Base Zone
- Make a shitton of new badniks, mini-bosses and mechs
- Build Flying Battery Zone
- Make Mecha Sonic who wadls the first ever robot capable of transforming using the Chaos Emeralds and also smart enough to pilot Eggmobile and start his own campaign against Knuckles.
At least, all the previous (and later times) you could say that Eggman had prep time and did all his new bases and robots inbeetween games, here because it happens right after STH2, it really doesn't make a whole much of sense. So I think Sonic Chaos could easily fit inbeetween Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, after all, the good ending where Sonic gets all Chaos Emeralds is definitely would be canon and it isn't established, if the heroes have the 7th emerald already or not.

Thank you for everything J you got me into this series. Sure I was a little bit of a sonic fan before you. I’ve played generations and forces and mania but I felt like it was just that thing that I would get into a little and then immediately stop like a month later and that’s what happened but when I found you a sonic generations video and your whole retrospective it made me realize just how good some parts of this series is to be honest I’m not the biggest fan of sonic adventure one, but I still love that game because of the ambition you got me into sonic and I am incredibly grateful. Thank you for clarifying that. 06 is not a reboot. Every time somebody says 06 is just a reboot. It makes me really upset because it is canon and it explains a lot of the stuff that happened in that game. I love your stuff you got me into sonic.
