Messmer’s Helm actually buffs the Fire Knight Skills by 8% and the Incantations are 3%. So just 2% less than winged serpent for Ashes of War in exchange for 3% buff for the Messmer spells.

Yeaah super armor on this ashe is dumb, tanking a colossal with this really easy to roll catch ashe.. you can’t even punish it cause even if you back stab it the spears will hit you and do a lot of damage. 💀

Im trying so hard to make mesmers spear work since I love the style but.. its not working.
L2 really good for punishing low awareness but nothing else. Initial fire attack is good but following stab spam and final blow only creates weakness. R2 almost useless.
I mostly try it on 200 level faith build. 80% of the time i got carried by the fire serpent because its awesome. And most of the time i found myself hard swapping to fire knights greatsword…

FOR THE ALGORITHM! Would love to see a pure STR build from you, i feel that it lacks some utility in invasions but i’m sure you’ll prove me wrong 😁

I absolutely despise how the timing to dodge the AoW of this weapon is EXACTLY like the boss... EXECPT THE VERY LAST ATTACK, IT COMES OUT EARLIER IT DRIVES ME CRAZY. Also, great video as always, gettign better everyday

Those fireballs are the bane of my existence because I'm so used to strafing projectiles and this Fire serpent has godlike tracking so it always hits me

If all you care about is about is the incantation scaling why not use something that specifically scales the best with your two main stats? faith and dex? Iirc the Godslayer seal scaled fth/str

I think all Seal should be equaly worse then Erdtree, except when using the Incants they are Specificly stated to buff. There they should outperform Erdtree on Spell-blade builds.
Sort of making Erdtree the Jack of all traits, but master of none.
Finger should stay as worst for those who just want a Seal for buffs on a non-fth Build

I really dislike that Messmer's weapon ended being classed as a Great Spear. It's just such an unremarkable kit.

I would loved to see the swordspear kit from Halberds. I dunno.

I had a lot of fun with this setup. Messmer's spear really surprised me with how strong it is and there's plenty of room here for build versatility. I focused completely on maximizing the damage of Messmer's assault, but you could do a standard PvP meta build with high poise, a thrown weapon build with the Smith script talisman and axe talisman focusing on the R2, or a typical spear talisman whiff punish poke build. I imagine this build is super strong at lv 200 when you can go 60dex/80faith and will still be powerful at level 125 as well.
