How to create a Divi Child theme

After having child theme, can I use DIVI builder on it and import layouts and work as I used to work directly on DIVI?

You just freakin' saved me, dude. I was getting errors every time I tried to manual activate the Divi child I created and I couldn't login to my site until I logged into the host site and manually reset the site to just the Divi theme. I tried all kinds of fixes and couldn't figure it out. I'm back in business thanks to you. And to me for not quitting. Baha ha.

I think it a good idea to start with a child theme. It only takes a few minutes to create even writing the code. The only thing you have to change is header in the style.css. You really just need 2 files a functions.php and style.css file. I prefer just changing the information in the header manually. Not really much to it.

This leaves a lot of questions unanswered. Need to look elsewhere for a proper understanding of how this works (as others have said).

I have tried to create a child theme and activate it in wordpress. I then used divibuilder to create a custom site layout using blank pages. After I finished I decided to check the parent theme (Divi) and it had become exactly like the child theme. I thought that the parent theme would remain in its default theme settings.
Did I screw something up here??

Thanks for the video but since I am new at this, how do I install this new child theme in a subdomain of my active site so I can make changes to it but not affect my main site? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Mak, the child build page works but, when I try to use my own child theme, a Fatal error occurred if I try to open DIVI> >Theme Option Page in my web site... so... I don't know!!! Any suggestion? Thank you!

Hard to believe it can be done so easily thank you! So any and all CSS has to be done in the child theme editor from that point on? Or are there any exceptions?
