Thanks for creating this video.
ОтветитьThe sides didn't need corner bead but the top and bottom did? Can you explain why not all edges? Thanks
ОтветитьNice 👍 just looks wavy
ОтветитьFinally I found a video that is very well detailed and easy to follow!! I’m a single mother who recently just got ripped off by a contractor $50,000!! He started the job and left me with a huge mess and no money to hire someone else to fix it! Wish me luck trying to do this myself. I have everything I need to do this job. I just need to take it slow and steady.
ОтветитьGreat video. I am redoing some windows and wasn't really sure what I want to do with window ledge. My brother did some of my window ledges this way. Unfortunately he passed away and I didn't get to watch him do the work. I will by trying this. However I may do the bottom edge with wood.
ОтветитьThose windows look awesome you don't even need trim
ОтветитьGreat video! Thanks for posting.
ОтветитьGreat job. I am just about to do a very similar job.
Ответить12 minute video. In reality a 2 day job waiting for compound to dry, paint to dry.
ОтветитьThank you for this great video. Easy for someone like me who knows absolutely nothing to be able to follow. I need to repair sill damage in my apartment and I'm confident I can do so thanks to you.
ОтветитьThanks for breaking this process down. As someone who never did this process before, with your video. I was able to repair my window trim on my own!
ОтветитьLots or work, it looks good. This would have been a good situation to use L bead where the edge of the drywall meets the window. Especially tear-away bead.
ОтветитьYour supposed to hold the foam can upside down lol
Ответитьthere's a giant hump in the middle, pretty rough!
ОтветитьI pad a 'pro' to do this, he didn't use drywall, just some wood, corner bead and build it up and plaster / filler.. it cracked in multiple places when it got cold
ОтветитьGreat video and very informative 👏Thank you
Ответитьthis looos soooo good
ОтветитьI'm a DIYer and you explained this so well! Great job! Thank you.
ОтветитьFantastic work, man!
ОтветитьWhat a great video! Thank you for making it... this was the educational video I needed to see. I have a follow up question: I have to remove/repair some of the joint compound where it attached to the corner bead and I'm wondering how to properly paint over the edge of the metal at the 90 degree angle? It seems like simple paint would quickly get rubbed off. Or maybe the paint would hold better once I replace the joint compound and make it a cleaner edge? Not sure... any advice you can give is greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьWow this looks good
ОтветитьI don't N95 mask is good enough in that small space bud, wear a dual respirator mask like a 3M P100 mask.
ОтветитьGreat video. Well laid out - only question is what about flashing/proofing on the wood inside (given it was open)?
Well done!!
Shouldn’t the whole window have been taken out? I didn’t see any of the sealing tape around it
ОтветитьThanks for the inspiration to finish my windows
ОтветитьGreat work. I think the finishing that you do (scraping the leftovers, good caulking, etc) is the difference between regular and high quality work. Thanks for showing this!
ОтветитьExcuse my noobness, but why do we remove the wooden jambs again? Why cant we just put cornerbeads directly on the wooden jambs and mud & paint?
Ответитьright on !!! a fking contractor would have charged 10k
Ответитьwe have the right corner uneven going down. the window is straight but the window frame isn't. - tighter on bottom right corner than top. they are telling me the sheetrock is hard to do now because there isn't enough space in the left bottom corner. should they be chipping the wood away to open it up wider? not sure hwy they are afraid to
ОтветитьGreat video, no crazy music,no screaming, just great tutorial and so humble about his work that he makes me feel I can do it too. Also super clean...I make a bigger mess just brushing my hair.
ОтветитьDoes the frame have to be removed to insulate existing windows? I have windows in place and wasn't planning to replace.
ОтветитьThis is exactly what I need! Thank you sooooooooo much for sharing!
ОтветитьI was worried why my contractor using drywall instead of Wood. So drywall is a acceptable way of install ?
ОтветитьWhy would you not wood frame this window then add mouldings?
ОтветитьAmazing job bro!
ОтветитьOh my goodness. This is awesome. So clear and to the point. Do I need a paper corner bead if I am only repair the top of the window?
ОтветитьShouldn't there be some kind of waterproof flashing covering the inside?
ОтветитьGood job.
ОтветитьWhat does this do for energy efficiency or (non-)soundproofing? Is it worse than the old stuff?
ОтветитьThanks for showing is this, looks good!
I think your video production has improved a-lot since I first started following you, nice work.
Good job! I need this for 2 windows. Just what I have been looking for.
ОтветитьLooks amazing and brand new brother! Great job!
ОтветитьGood one. Always unique project. Thanks
ОтветитьThanks for taking the time to show us your project brother! I appreciate it. Keep up the good work and informative video.
ОтветитьNeed to clean out that gutter outside the window - it's blocked up and running over.
ОтветитьLooks great.
