I bought a terribly abused 1995 L3 in Brazil in 2015 cheap, as a project. I've spent the time since doing a last nut and bolt rebuild (everything apart from the starter clutch). For the past 6 or 7 years I've been running it on most weekends whilst I finalize the tuning and fault eradication. I know that this seems like a longwinded rebuild but it was really knackered ; It is now however an amazing bike, very fast and with a very racer like prone riding position. I warn future owners about buying one in similar condition (it is a very complex bike and needs some pretty informed mechanical input) a good workshop manual is absolutely essential (Clymer). Rebuilding this beast has however taught me SO much and really increased and honed my mechanical skills. I've spent hundreds of hours on it and loved almost every minute, but not nearly as much as just riding it, its pure adrenaline, a real monster of a bike with everything "manual" (no anti, dive/wheelie, ABS, nothing, it's all down to you!). It's also so satisfying when realising that I've done everything on the bike myself, I know her down to the last nut and bolt. (ps I did get a friend to re-bush the front forks, but that is it) and it's such a buzz when hitting 200kph plus with her (easy with this powerful engine). And to boot she's the greatest looker and everyone loves the Green colour and her classic lines, she definitely causes heads to turn down here, even at 28years on from her heyday. Most absorbing and definitely the best looking bike I've ever owned, these WILL become classics and good ones will demand high prices very, very soon.

ОтветитьThe pool hoses on the tank looked so badass.
ОтветитьWhat is a “Flat Side” Carburettor???🙉👎👎👎
ОтветитьThanks for the amazing video! I proudly own a black&red model from 1990 🤩
ОтветитьI loved my J2 even more than I love my mrs, my kids and my dogs. If I could go back to open roads, out in the twisties and feeling like an absolute hero on my J2?? I would, without a second thought. I mean, who needs a mrs and kids and a couple of dogs when you can lose yourself in the twisties on a J2 ZXR750... IMO, the best bike ever!
ОтветитьI loved my '95 ZX-7 R-spec ! Imo it was an extremely capable RACE machine and with just a few tweaks here and there it was wholly competitive with the Suzuki GSXR and Ducati 916 race bikes.
The ZX-7 offered one of the stiffest chassis ever and with suspension mods, LE front fork revalve and an Ohlins adjustable rear shock, factory Kawi Superbike kit linkages and complimentary chassis geometry setup, it was a formidable weapon on all but the tightest tracks.
My bike made 105 BHP stock and with the Muzzy Superbike kit pistons, cams, valves, adjustable timing gear and full titanium exhaust along with Factory carb tuning , K&N filtercharger and a thousand tiny tweaks here and there.and running on Nu-tech special #4, 123 BHP was on tap. That was estimated to be 127 BHP with the benefit of ram-air induction at high speed.
Add the factory Kawasaki Superbike kit black box ignition and Keihin flat slide carbs and 150 BHP was on tap.
BUT......A LOT of maintenance was required for that kind of oomph!
Along with the usual mods and weight saving measures, my Duc hunter dropped 65 lbs into the parts bin and was an absolute MISSILE around Road Atlanta, VIR and Savannah Raceway!
170 mph down Road As back straight would see all but the slickest non-factory Suzukis drafted past.
A handful of wins and a bunch of podium finishes and even more top 10 finishes was made all the sweeter since I built that bike myself in my own garage and for less than $35,000 including spares.
It spanked more than a few $150k factory support bikes.
Those days bikes looked their best to me
ОтветитьWhen that first came out , one of the guys I went to HS with had one
Looked amazing. Had the hoses over the tank from the fairing.
Kawasaki 💚🥰
ОтветитьRather ugly..H2? How very dare you.. it’s one of the best looking bikes ever, especially in green! 🤨😂
I have literally just bought an H2 today.. had 3 of them previously, my first one bought in ‘93! It will look good sitting next to my ‘98 GSXR750 SRAD 👍🏼
My favorite iteration of it is the 1993-1995 one, with those air intake tubes gone. In fact, I found those to be the only defect in earlier models. This bike together with the Suzuki GSX-R 750 (1990) are my fav old school bikes. I’m a big fan of the signature dual circular headlights design. Great review!
ОтветитьI found a used zxr750 for about 1000 dollars. Should I get it?
ОтветитьCan you please tell us what is the soundtrack? thank you fren.
ОтветитьA 80’s Kawasaki with unforgiving suspension… would would have guessed 🤣🤣
ОтветитьЕсли бы по русски еще..
ОтветитьYou missed the m1 and m2
Ответить'93 to '95 were the best years. I've had 5 of them. An immaculate one in the US will set you back $8k-$10k.
ОтветитьHad a 1992 ZX7, replaced the cams with the 7R version and really woke my bitch up. Why on God's green earth did I sell her?
ОтветитьBest looking bike Eva!!!!
ОтветитьThe limited-production '91-92 ZX-7R was a fantastic motorcycle, especially after tuning the suspension and carburetion.
ОтветитьI miss my ZXR750 93'. I should never have sold that baby.
ОтветитьIconic bike wanted one so bad was way out of my reach 😕 but later got a 929 blade, and rode it hard 🤪 we called it the fireplace was so comfortable and could tease slow rider's to push their limits still have respect and nostalgia for ZXR, a pioneering motorcycle respect 🤙 ❤️
Ответитьdang i need one of these.
ОтветитьMy inspiration
Ответитьwish i still had mine
ОтветитьWhere can I get the fairings and other parts for my 1986 model. It was in a fire and I need it repaired
Ответитьi had both of the bikes shown on 1.44.zxr 400 r and zxr 750.especially the 400 was a killer of giants, briliant motorcycles.👍👍👍
ОтветитьAt some point I wanna get one and put in an old zx10r engine, upgrade suspension and wheels and keep it looking the same
ОтветитьQue lindo que seria si estiviese subtitulado . Acuerdense que existen otros idiomas y no todos hablan castellano !
Ответитьlegends
ОтветитьHoover tried to sue Kawasaki, but it backfired with the sweetest stock exhaust since the KH250,plus it had proper suction!
ОтветитьOne has to note that the J versions have lower peak power output, but higher low end torque, which arguably improves street performance.
ОтветитьIconic bike...i love it...
ОтветитьThe 93 zxr750 k model or sp is sexy as hell. Didn't these where the most valiant against ducatis at time ? What an era😍
ОтветитьI miss my 94 zx7r. It was by far my favorite bike I've ever owned.
Ответитьstill got my 1992 750r
ОтветитьI've got a 92 K model
ОтветитьÇa c’était une superbe machine j’en ai eu 2
ОтветитьThe 89 ZX7 was and is the best looking motorcycle ever made that green white blue an gold intake pipes had my 19 year old hart a pumpkin every time I saw one❤️
Ответитьno its not possible, today they cost an arm and a leg
ОтветитьThe 89 - 90 version of this bike made me fall in love with sport bikes when I was young.
ОтветитьMy brother has a zx750r '92 k2
ОтветитьLegendary bike, dominated the AMA in the early 90's. Getting very hard to find a nice one at a good price.
ОтветитьThe ZXR is rapidly becoming collectable, buy one now before prices go mental.
ОтветитьI have the 1990 ZXR750H2 23yrs on still loving it 3 years ago done a full nut and bolt rebuild looks the dogs
ОтветитьThanks, but need more on how tos.
Links anyone???
I have a 1989 750 zxr h1 and in need of small repairs/adjustments. The book is just horrible and waste of money. (EU or UK versions)
