It is totally not worth it for foreigners to go to Tangkubanparahu. The ticket price is one thing, but the worst is the selling merchants (souvenirs). So coercive & they make you very very uncomfortable. My biggest regret is bringing my foreigner friends to Tangkubanparahu when they are on vacation in my city.

There's many nice tea plantations in that area you can walk in for free. No need to pay any discriminatory enterance fees..

For the ticket you guys pay i think you should go to the pool with different entrance, the pool you guys in should on be 40k instead of 75k

Good for you by not visiting the volcanoe, I hate it when places in indonesia have 2 different prices of tickets, for local and foreigner and so much more expensive. The gov prolly the one who initiated it backed by those mp, or even if not, they should not allowed it. How would they feel if the go abroad, and want to go to some places and have to pay. Then suddenly you have to pay 10 times more than local? How would they think about that countries. How would you think about those people in that country?

Thanks to using local transport then rent or using grabcar.

$20usd isnt that much compared to where you two came from. in NY an adult pass for rockeffeler access is $40, empire state $48 etc. every site and attraction there cost substantially way way more. Now imagine your self as an indonesia going to NY (or other cities in the state) paying that normal prices and compare your experience now paying 'bule' price in indonesia. at least the $20 ticket price is official , and more importantly all accomodation, transport and food that you pay in indonesia is really cheap, paying 'bule' price once a while if you must to wont break the bank.
