How to Isolate Vocals in Audacity (Remove Music and Keep Vocals)

I have a question. I have this audio of my grandfather talking in the background and I want to isolate just him talking but the news in the background overlaps and is a little louder than him. How can I get it to where all I hear is him? I am working on this with a friend who is using audacity and I’m using WavePad

Thanks for this helpful video. I will try it some time soon. I have a different issue though. I have this episode of a show in which I have noise, people vocals, song vocals and music. I wanted to remove all the music+song with vocal part so that I keep only vocals and noise! The nice point is that I know which songs they are so I can add them to audacity along with the video soundtrack. My idea was to play all of them in parallel but the 2nd one should be the 1st one inverted, and hopefully, if I have the exact same amplitude for both, the exact same phase and the exact same speed, it should remove the song part from the video audio. The issue is that it is not so easy! If you have hints, I am all ears!

I have the opposite issue. I'm only getting the vocals and not the music. I haven't changed any defaults. Any suggestions?

How do you do this if you have an instrumental of the music along with one where the vocals are on?
Like, is there an easy method to isolate vocals with the instrumental?

I'm working on a mashup song right now, and I'm having trouble because when I try to isolate the vocals it just ends up lowering the quality and eventually volume. I really just want the vocals but it seems to not be doing its job in isolating. Could you give me a pointer?

Both Audacity and Davinci Resolve 18.1.1 have Voice Isolation. DR 18 Removes any background Noise (Audio). I need just the opposite. Many times when Videoing a live event There are prople talking in the background I would like removed.

If it helps anyone, the menu location for "Vocal Reduction and Isolation" has changed (at least for the current version on a Mac M1 as of the time of me writing this). The new menu location is:

Effect > Special > Vocal Reduction and Isolation
