Stay away from Newegg! It had happened to my friends and I, too. I lost money and lost Mobos after back and forth with their customer service. “Swallow whatever we sell to you!” is their policy.😂 Amazon since.

Its one motherboard!!!!!! Was it worth all this controversy for newegg?? Why didnt they just take care of it and save face? To be honest though no company ever is perfect and the way things are going there wont be any companies left they will all be cancelled. One day everything ever will be cancelled, because perfection doesnt exist

Undeniably, a Newegg mistake. Investigation would've shown the RMA chain. And talking to a manager or two would've resolved this issue with an accepted RMA request and a discount by way of apology. It is perfectly reasonable to send a message by withholding business when a company makes a big mistake, but the majority of people are going to continue to buy from Newegg if the price is right. Don't kid yourself.

Newegg sucks! I have spent literally tens of thousands of dollars with them over the years and they are seriously jerking me around on a tv that they waited a week to even ship out then the shipper had problems and the shipment was seriously delayed so 18 days later on the actual scheduled delivery day that was arranged with me and the shipper newegg decides to have the shipper return the tv and are resending me another tv!! Are you kidding me?! As if 18 days wasn't bad enough on a tv that was supposed to have 5 day shipping now i have to wait possibly another 20 days to get the replacement I should have had today! And to make matters worse they tell me I can not even get a refund until the original tv shows back up at their warehouse even though i didn't have anything to do with anything, I never received the tv! I could understand if i received the tv and sent it back but this is freeking horrible!

Workers error.

They received to warehouse from RMA and either by mistake or some other errors in the system assumed that it was repaired.

Since it came from the manufacturer repair it was processed as open box.

I am currently suffering through a shipment delay from Newegg they are telling me there is no intentional delay to it but from what I've learned from the United States Post office it is likely there is something behind it there are delays that are recorded up to July 7th of this year that are still undelivered

Ответить
@joshschrock6265
@joshschrock6265 - 28.12.2022 06:59

The delays are coming from the transition from UPS to United States postal service it's a choice of which shipping method they're choosing it has nothing to do with no intentional delays they're taking the cheap route and it's causing delays

As for Dell...they are also known for lying in the presales side about shipping times. Where they make it sound like you can have a machine in a timely manner and then once you give them your money it gets delayed and delayed and delayed. Their forums are FULL of people talking about how they were told a time of like a week or so and then after buying that changed to months and months.

i just went thru a thing with NewEgg (and subsequently ASUS) recently. we had purchased 13 new computers and monitors for my work, and i was tasked with setting them all up. as i only work there on Mondays, it took me 3 weeks before i got to the monitor that was damaged, and by then the 15 day return time was passed, and i was asked by NewEgg to resort to ASUS' RMA process, the rules of which i was fairly familiar with, and had already heard about their tricky RMA practices, so i was ready for it, and followed their rules to the letter.

so after explaining things to their support, i was sent a label to ship it to them (for free). then i was subsequently told that the device had been damaged by ME (which it had NOT), and it was not covered by warranty. i argued my case, explaining how it could NOT have been my fault, and they said "then it must have happened in shipment, so you need to return it to NewEgg", which of course was not an option. and the biggest joke was, without the warranty in effect, they wanted ~$250 to repair the monitor, when in fact, the thing only cost us $170.

suffice it to say, i responded by giving them an earful. carefully chosen words outlining how they were idiots (without actually using those words), and how their logic was illogical.
they dropped the cost to just over $100, which, while still unfair, was better than the alternative of just buying a new one for $170. i accepted and reluctantly thanked them, however, i gave them some more than constructive advice for their practices, which i'm sure they had already heard before, but it made ME feel better.

i guess TL;DR: if you buy something, open it up and plug it in ASAP, or else risk NOT being able to return it when it ends up being dead.

My own 2 cents.
I ordered a video card around 2 years ago.
Took about 3 tries and quite a bit of time dealing with their customer service to even get the order placed.
THEY SHIPPED IT TO THE WRONG ADDRESS.
I was over 50 MILES from the nearest FedEx location (I had TOLD THEM to ship it Parcel Post).
By the time I could get to that FEDEX, it was already on it's way back to Newegg (not Fedex fault, and they did tell me when I had to be there to pick it up - I didn't waste the trip, as Fedex HAD warned me and transportation options were VERY limited at the time).
I dealt with customer service again, they agreed to RESHIP the card to the RIGHT address.
INSTEAD, THEY RMA THE DEVICE.
I talk to customer support a FEW times at that point, eventually they agreeded to refund me the money IN THE ORIGINAL PAYMENT FORMAT - but insisted on charging me the shipping EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE.

2 years later, I STILL HAVE NO REFUND IN ANY FORMAT after several contacts with customer support - though they did inform me I had been issued a GIFT CARD, they HAVE YET TO GIVE ME THE BLOODY PASSWORD TO IT SO I COULD ACTUALLY USE IT.

Newegg used to be good, but at this point after thousands I've spent with them I refuse to EVER use them again, and I'm talking with a lawyer friend about SUING THEM.

IMO, DO NOT DEAL WITH NEWEGG.

In my experience, all repair business across the board, has been full of corruption, corner cutting, and fraud. 100% of the time. If someone has ever worked someplace that did honest upstanding work on RMAs and such, please send me a message, because I would love to know it exists. But every place I've worked where they had RMAs, it's been cut throat cost avoidance, lying, reselling, hacking stuff together, and rarely ever any real repair work. The employees lie. The middle managers lie. Everyone lies. Because the reality is, repair is a money losing endeavor, and naturally the company wants to minimize this cost.

Newegg needs to realize they arent the monopoly of online computer hardware they once were; they rely on being the only place to get stuff, instead of creating ANY valuable reason to shop there. Why would I buy a car from a dealership with a history of selling lemons and then blames the customer?

Ответить
@Scottoest
@Scottoest - 20.03.2023 07:51

I mean, the damning part is when GN sent it back and Newegg denied the refund saying it was damaged, when it had their own RMA sticker on it from when they tried to get it fixed. If that was a careless employee, then it was EXTREMELY, incomprehensibly careless - first to sell it, and then to claim user damage with the RMA sticker still on it. Gonna go with Occam's Razor on this one, and say it's more likely they just blanket deny refunds (at least initially)... until they realized who the customer was.

The only issue I ever had with NewEgg was when I bought an open box laptop, it showed up very visibly broken with bits of plastic rattling around in the box. I wanted a replacement, they refused and issued a refund instead.

Honestly that isn't even an issue. Last year I bought a laptop, the next day it was on sale. 20 minutes on the phone, most of it on hold, and I had the difference between what I paid and the new sale price refunded.

The main complaint I've come across for Micro Center as an American is how scattered it is. As far as I know, there are only around 25 stores nationwide, so you really just have to win the lottery on where you live. Im lucky enough to live just half an hour north of one (somehow my state lucked out with 3 locations), yet I've talked to someone else who said how they'd have to take a 4-5 hour drive just to get to the nearest location.

Microcenter doesn't ship a lot of components, you have to pick them up. So, if you live a long way away from a store then they are not a choice.

I don't buy Gigabyte products anymore specifically because they will not replace an item under warranty they will fix it which takes forever instead of sending you a new replacement MOBO or whatever the case would be. I had a socket 2011 MOBO I got warrantied and it sucked. So no longer use them because of that reason. So the price may be cheap, but other companies will just send you a replacement part.
