The video I watched showed soap first into the eraser, then into water, then a towel. Looks like you did everything at once. It’s like with anything if you take your time it’ll turn out better and if you rush it it’ll become a worse product. My pot roast is a lot worse when I just throw everything together, but when I take the time to sear the meat, deglaze the wine, and caramelize the onions it turns out great.

You fold it in friend! The more you work it in your hands stretching it apart and folding back in it'll disperse the charcoal into the kneaded earaser! I did it before in college (art major). Works okay but If you prefer just to get a new one thats what works best for you! I ultimately got a new one too😂

Coincidentally I just watched a video to wash it. The lady took little palm oil and needed an eraser and then needed it in a big bowl filled with warm water. She repeated it multiple times and it worked.
