Ответитьtime to plant trees those grass piles will just burn up in a drought.
Ответитьariel genevieve perrier lee stanley at ur service .working on it .
Ответитьonly in ohio
ОтветитьGreat video - thanks:)
ОтветитьYou can tell that there isn't any blue white telapia fish in there bwcause they remove alge when many are in a water hole .
ОтветитьROFL "Pristine" DEC says don't eat the fish especially a NO for pregnant women...
ОтветитьIt’s so sad. Wish people would start to wake up about the harmful fertilizer runoff from big agricultural that pollutes our waters

ОтветитьOh yeah
ОтветитьMake these mfers STOP planting corn within 50 miles of the lake
ОтветитьThis is happening in Manitoba also...lake winnipeg and lake Manitoba are huuuuge. Hopefully they don't get so bad they can't bounce back.
ОтветитьI missed Lake Erie because I go to the lake when I was a kid :(
ОтветитьImportant topic. This is a big problem in many places in the world. Last summer I saw the entire baltic sea experiencing its second harmful algal bloom of the year.
ОтветитьIt's now 2019 and here in Erie Pa we are having the worst algae bloom ever... so no we have not solved the problem, as a matter of fact with the gentrification of our bay front and the rich building hotels and paving for their parking lots right up to the water's edge without a thought of the run off has made the problem dramatically worse... environmental issues be damned when the rich want to make more money.
ОтветитьYou could harvest the algae bloom for bio fuel
Ответитьwhat difficult choice did they have to face
ОтветитьThat what ?? happened t leack Erie because of detergent meal.
ОтветитьI grew up in Michigan back in the mid 50s and 60s.. I loved the big lakes and every spare moment I'd fish those lakes and the rivers that fed them. Now I wouldn't go near them. So I then moved to beautiful Seattle and Puget Sound and now I wouldn't go near it either. Then I moved on to southern Oregon and I finally gave up fishing completely. I pretty much had defined my life and joy in living by being on lakes, rivers and fishing them.
Now I watch porn and eat opiates like candy. I guess you could say I've adapted to the destruction of the wild fish and the waters they lived in and I've moved on. God bless America.
This is BS. I live near lake Erie and it is not like this.
ОтветитьI hope they stop it
ОтветитьSince the run-off is rich in nutrients,it seems logical to collect it and reapply it to the fields. instead of adding new supplies.
Ответитьblame DuPont, Cargill, Big Sugar, and Monsanto! And all those industries they all have to go! Otherwise their gonna kill us all! Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьAll you need to do is look at what Mosaic does to the land where it mines phosphates (Florida). They are NOT environmentally responsible yet they keep getting mining permits granted. They have destroyed and abandoned millions of acres and still do it today.
ОтветитьSome just do not care. A small college in Pennsylvania, named California University of Pennsylvania, drains its recently constructed asphalt parking lots at its football stadium and student housing complexes into detention ponds, which then flow during every rain event to the nearest stream, which then travels to a warm-water fishery less than two miles away, and then to the Monongahela River, carrying a variety of contaminants, including petroleum hydrocarbons and particulates.
ОтветитьYou need more volume
ОтветитьLake Erie is probably the MOST DISGUSTING LAKE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD
ОтветитьWhat is wrong with you people we have the machine invented that will recover all debris, algae bloom, bacteria, toxin & oil spills from your waters returning just water back at 90% clean. Give us the funding and we will build a larger machine to put into your waters with solar wind technology....Restoring your waters removing all disasters. Eduardo/ 954-649-3905
Ответитьlake erie is one polluted lake its sad, but tis assholes tell you the water is clean. bullshit
ОтветитьA few year's later we still have this issue
ОтветитьI found a lot of info in this video!
Ответить"Made warmer by climate change" . . . Garbage science! Cyanobacteria have been around since before the dinosaurs, and so have the blooms. These global warming fraudsters will never quit, will they? HABs are not as much of a threat as these goons would have us believe. Some blooms can result in fatalities for pets (who like to eat the algae), but if you want to know how full of garbage these climate change morons are, google HABs and see how many people have actually DIED from a HAB. I don't know of a single case!!! Thank God President Trump will put an end to bogus spending on bogus environmental issues. Stop studying HABs and start preventing them- that's where the money should go.
Ответитьthis looks like something that would appear in the original lorax
ОтветитьHave a drink it safe
ОтветитьI never understood why people plant flowers for butterfly and then spray them with pesticides and wonder why bees are dieing and cancer killing every body. Were do you think it all goes. Water
ОтветитьNo idea where at in lake erie this is, but I was up there about a year ago and it was completely fine. Going to be up there this summer aswell.
ОтветитьGreat video. I like the balance of this video where the source of blame for algae blooms is also shown to be trying to prevent the issue. The historical overview is also excellent.
ОтветитьI was just up at Put N Bay and the water looked like green paint by the state park.
ОтветитьMaybe, just maybe if the farmers stop growing mono GMO crops, everything would change....also instead of using harsh chemical on the lawn, and in the sink etc, try using a natural soap ( Dr bronners) oh when will we learn...change starts with us
ОтветитьDumping pure sewage into our water is yummy apparently
Ответить
