Brought a fake one for fun. $4, it weighed an ounce instead of a troy ounce, failed magnet test, and diameter and thickness was the same as a Maple leaf. The engraving didn't have the depth as a genuine one too, reeding also looked like it was painted over, perhaps it nickel plated instead of silver. Are all genuine Eagles a frosted silver colour, regardless of the year?
ОтветитьThe fist thing I noticed was the Sunrays being thicker on the fake coin too.
ОтветитьThe waves going into the sun are diffrent.
Ответить“If it’s too good to be true, it is”
ОтветитьGreat video, wondering what the Sigma PMV would show on that counterfeit? Liked and subbed.
ОтветитьExcellent juxtaposition when you overlaid the legit coin on top of the fake where you could actually see both discrepancies of the T and Y...perfect comparison easily shown.
ОтветитьShmuckatelli coin
ОтветитьI got my fakes to know what to look out for. I use pinger app to test fakes
ОтветитьExcellent video...esp the close-up of the letters of the two coins.
ОтветитьThank you -- good information!
ОтветитьI bought a SIGMA PRO. FOR ALL MY TESTING
ОтветитьProbably can still sell it at $10 as copper coin coated with silver.
ОтветитьWell the price of it should be in the first giveaway.
.
Big like 137! Excellent video and thank you so much for sharing
Ответить$22 should raise your eyebrows right off of the bat.
ОтветитьDON'T BUY EBAY!!!
ОтветитьSo you say that T & the Y are different........
ОтветитьI discovered another problem, as a newcomer to silver coins...I tried to use math to calculate the pure silver weight (pure silver is 10,4 gr/cm3) but I never came close, always getting 7,4-8,4 on these coins, except on the Canadian Maple Leaf, I got 10,1 gr/cm3 which indicates i high quality indeed. I never got that number on other high quality coins. (Math: weight divided with volume...one should get the pure silver weight minus the small amount of copper, still around 9,1 or so...I never got his high value, except on the Maple Leaf, it's so strange) Thanks for the video!
ОтветитьThe real one will have a nice "3D look" (if that makes sense) while fakes will look "flat", again if that makes sense.
ОтветитьThey got me on the 2023 canada maple leaf on e bay 2 of them 30.99 has copper core + through the c is just 3 vertical lines real one has 5 and same on other letter also.
ОтветитьAlso the real 2023 silver eagle has an upward curve to the bottom of the 3 on the 23 of 2023 and the fake does not-good hunting my fake also has the new rim security space on the rim at about 3 oclock.
ОтветитьFake coins are good for decoys. I have a few to throw off anyone hunting for the real stack
ОтветитьJust the fact that you bought it for 10.00 below spot should have tipped you off.
ОтветитьYou did a disservice to your viewers by not indicating the the vitals of both coins: circumference, diameter, thickness, and weight. You could also have done a sound test by striking both coins. Nevertheless, we thank you for alerting us to the differences in the fonts.
ОтветитьI have created a big stir on Ebay and have reported over 20 Chinese sellers on Ebay for selling these. NOTHING has been done! These Eagles are legal tender coins released by the US mint and basically Ebay is guilty of forgery since they allow them to be sold on Ebay. All the sellers I reported are still selling them.
Ответитьyou did not show us the edge notch.
Ответитьthanks for sharing, SUB
ОтветитьEbay is loaded with fake coins. Ebay does nothing about removing them looked today and found many sellers selling fakes. all from China.
ОтветитьVery poor quality fake
Stevie Wonder could spot that
Hello from North Phoenix Coin and Jewelry! Good video!
ОтветитьColor is first thing I notice.
ОтветитьThe L shouldn't have the ray going through it.
ОтветитьBuy only for reputable sellers only
ОтветитьSilver plated copper round
ОтветитьBeware of Ebay!
ОтветитьI'm done buying any gold or silver. Fake everywhere. Far too big a risk.
ОтветитьI noticed some of these fakes on Ebay yesterday. Sellers (all in CHINA) are offering 2024 "Brilliant, Uncirculated" examples for about $22 bucks...HALF of what they should be selling for. Shipping was FREE, and all the sellers had zero (or very few) feedbacks. Unfortunately, many examples had already sold.
ОтветитьThe easiest way to tell would be from the price to begin with
