Really wasnt expecting Tony Abbott to come up

ОтветитьA Stalker game, and a Bear Grylls piss drinking reference? It really feels like 2009 again.
ОтветитьA glitch? I think you mean dynamically spawned anomaly system.
ОтветитьI changed playback speed to 0.80 and got a normal, much more pleasant narration.
Ответитьyeah idk man even with the absurd damage levels and economy at launch and even with the a-life essentially being absent and all the other gripes I have with it STALKER 2 is prob my game of the year. The atmosphere, visuals, sound design, and just overall vibe of walking from each zone to the next feels incredible. The side quests are genuinely interesting, the characters you come across are all really memorable and fun. I haven't been this obsessed with a game since BG3.
Main complaint: it's way too damn easy. I don't like how fast I basically became an unstoppable killing machine and I'm on veteran. At this point anomalies I didn't see or ledges I didn't see are what does me in. I'm on veteran and have a stash box so packed with alcohol ammo meds armor etc I will pretty much never run out. It feels a little less desperate than previous games and the armor turns you into a tank that can eat like 10 bullets on top of that, and I'm using a pretty middling armor from early game too.
Have we entered the fascists vs nutters timeline?
What happened to everyone since the first time I heard that delightful phrase? Is Luigi, with his good looks and weaponry, the protagonist of this twisted game?
A walking simulator with janky animal AI to abuse and a character monlogue about drinking your own piss: that perfectly describes The Long Dark.
ОтветитьThe glitchs are wild, i got ambushed by 6 guys then my gun is switch by a broken sniper( broken as in max damage) and only 5 bullets.
ОтветитьAll of the criticisms of stalker 2 has me thinking: 'well this sounds EXACTLY how I remember stalker being', aside from the mutant AI, two console generations hasn't figured out how to make a monster jump on a car bonnet yet
ОтветитьConsider adding a bit more sound dampening in the room you recorded this in, or use different equipment. It's not horrible, but there's still a bit of an echo.
You're supposed to be a professional, dammit! ; P
Stupid Tony Abbot is a tautology.
ОтветитьTwatty British ponce shits on a video game created through war, you post Brexit Englishmen are a bunch of crybaby oafs.
ОтветитьYeah I’d say Stalker 2 was maybe in development for like 6-8 years cause the fact GSC gameworld disbanded in 2011 but reopened in 2014 and released a remake of a different game before Stalker 2 announced in 2018 so that’s where the 6 came from, but the game they made prior to the announcement published in 2016 so that’s where the 8 came from, honestly it might’ve been longer but they definitely wouldn’t have worked on it when they had just opened back up in 2014
ОтветитьI really didn't like skifs motivations at all. Seemed like a pretty shit reason to go as far as he went for such a dumb reason.
ОтветитьMaybe the game is so janky due to all the wibblie wobblies?
ОтветитьI had a much more game-breaking problem whilst playing Stalker 2, enemies kept spawning BEHIND ME, and when I turn around to shoot them, enemies spawn behind me again.
I agree on the factions being boring, I think it comes down to the lack of information given about them, in previous games you could ask their leaders (if you aren't already on shoot-eachother-terms) what their deal is, and it usually makes sense of why they're in the zone, this as far as I can tell is absent, or I guess told through the story, I got to the part where you have to get into the swamp but there's a mutant there with inordinate amounts of health and I was just getting bored.
Yahtzee referring to trump as "the herald of the age of shit" is both a mood and depressingly true.
In before MAGA cultists call Yahtzee "woke." 🙄
Yatzee is always reliable for whining about the people he was politically identical to a decade and a half ago.
50 cent blood in the sand anyone?
Yahtzee moved to the US in 2016, got to experience nigh new heights for our economy and prosperity. Then one of the worst recessions in history under biden’s corruption, and this clod still has the gall to call trump the “herald of the age of shit.”
I cannot fathom being so blind to the real world. Maybe it’s too many video games rotting his brain.

I hope Clippy the Ammo Clip will return.
ОтветитьTony Abbott and Linford Christie references? Doesn't that tell a story eh!
ОтветитьI haven't heard a Tony Abbott reference in a good long while, and wasn't expecting one from Yahtzee in a STALKER vid
ОтветитьI think many new players just don’t understand what STALKER is meant to be. It’s not Russian Fallout, guys. It’s a hardcore, albeit buggy, atmospheric journey through a super dangerous large area where you are expected to die a lot of times in search of money, loot and adventure. You are not some hero looking to save the world, you are a selfish bastard killing people for cash, a mercenary. You can’t carry an entire Minecraft inventory, you are regular dude with a backpack. You can carry a few guns and ammo and meds and some few things to sell and that’s it before you slow down. Also people don’t bring up the artifacts you collect which can buff you quite a lot. I guess you can call it a janky Dark Souls FPS game.
If you want Fallout, play Fallout.
What was that term that Yahtzee came up with for adventure RPG games with crafting? This game doesn't seem to have crafting, but it has all the other symptoms as far as I can see
ОтветитьExactly what I had hoped from this game, not much changed since the original, since the atmosphere and dangers are the selling point of the series.
SOOOOO glad they didn't put it too many modern sensibilities but stuck to what people actually liked about the series. No need to reinvent the wheel unless asked to.
The right mood for STALKER is during a depressive episode, to be perfectly frank
ОтветитьIt is a very fun game and I do highly recommend to everyone that likes both FPS and survival games.
The biggest thing Yahtzee missed was the achievements and the funny things that happen depending on how you play the game.
You can play the entire game without killing a human NPC. The game will actually start making fun of you the more you do non lethal. There is an achievement for non lethal takedowns for 50 NPC. The description is this is not the Metro games. If you go select missions without killing NPCs non hostile NPCS will start calling you Artyom instead of fellow Stalker. If you beat the entire game without killing a human you the Dark Ones ending. You then unlock the best gear in the game; Khan health pack that auto spans health kits every 30 seconds, Anna’s rifle that never falls apart, Ulman’s mini radio, Miller’s amno pack that spans any kind of amno in your inventory every 30 seconds, and Artyom’s survival watch. You don’t get this gear until you start a new game.
The game calls you an alcoholic if you drink a least 50 bottles of Vodka and gives you the alcoholic anonymous number. You are called a shit bucket in Ukrainian if you played the game long enough.
Lastly the game has a real life merchandise store. That dark joke I will not spoil unless asked.
Does strike me that a good chunk of the broad criticism here would apply to the old games too, in terms of the generally boring look and feel of the place. That being why I never bothered with those old games either.
ОтветитьIt's been a while since Yatz has done one of his mocking acronym reviews, makes me want to check out the game. To me it reminded me of FF XIII, I'm in the mood to wander the wastelands with nothing to do.
ОтветитьIt wasn't held back because of "the war", it was held back because the Ukrainian government, who funded the game (so smile Western taxpayers, you funded this game...) told them to start over because the game was too "pro Russian". Which in Ukraine could simply mean that some characters spoke Russian. (like 70% of Ukrainians) Also, one of the devs was killed, because he fought with a banderist nazi group... So, I'm not wasting a cent on that garbage.
ОтветитьHuh. And here I though there was a spelling mistake in the video title. Shows me what I know I guess.
ОтветитьI had no idea this channel existed. I’m so happy to have found your reviews once again.

Ответить"Survivalist Twitchy ***holes Looting Killed Enemies Regularly"
That's one way to put it.
The game is really unbalanced with the Guns too.
Half the game is figuring out that the starter pistol is actually the best weapon in the game for the first 3 quarters, barring game guides level “go here, get best gun in game.” Shenanigans.
Once youve found the broken Rhino, Saiga-12, Energy Gun combo, the game becomes quite easy.
This sounds like an Eastern European knock off of the Fallout series….like even the glitches in game are just an homage to original material
ОтветитьIs this the new zero punc?
ОтветитьCame for the video, stayed for the comments
ОтветитьUpdate: double funny with the spoilers from the Spark route
Honestly, the fact that Yahtzee and so many others here see Skif as nothing more than "I just want to buy a new shitty appartment to watch TV in" is the most obvious statement in cultural differences between us.
Skif is a veteral with a complete loss of purpose. From his diary, his life was going nowhere fast, just watching days pass buy. So while going into the Zone and sticking there for unhinged amount of warfare may be a very unreasonable response to having your appartment burn down (and you quickly and easily make more money that it could ever be worth), that's just the goal he can articulate. Like many people returning from service without any further guidance or support system, Skif was lost and now latched onto the first big objective that appeared before him. He seeks purpose, and the 4 endigns of the game are variable outcomes of what you make that purpose to be. The game pretty much says that - he's the only person who can really make such drastic choices, because he's an outsider, without pretty much anything tying him down.
I've known people like that, and if you just take him as "dude wants money to buy a house" then that's a big sign of "You Wouldn't Get It" meme
I remember the days when yahtz was complaining about too many games letting you sit behind a rock suckling on some nourishing gravel. Now he has an issue with actual RAZOR wire making you bleed and use bandages. smh you've gone soft old man but we still love you
