How to install Soft Close Hinge

I have no idea how I got first 5 in and can’t get my last 5 ugghh!

My holes are not square, but T shaped. Are there different soft close I can buy?

Different universe alternate-dimension
= far far away, long long ago
= if a cabinet door is 3 hinges, throw away hinge
= if a cabinet door is 2 hinges, use the top hinge position
== add slider concept to secdond hinge position
== mount first hinge on door
== balance door weight-size-density and find second hinge position
== test then drill then secure with modern soft-closing hinge replacements because can slam-slap-kick.

For sliding doors, use sliding concept for door edge, add steing a pull lightly with soft fingers grip like office-women. Once found good position, mark and apply theorecticql-position to top-bottom rollers(tension, suspension, friction, ...). try french heads chopping for this theory (guillotine effect)

Very helpful thanks although mine weren’t that easy to put back in I had to line everything up and stick a butter knive into the front to push the tab in and it popped into place

Bought some from Wickes, doesn’t come with any instructions 😳 took ages to find a relevant video, but yours was the best by far! Found it easier to clip the hinge together then screw it into the cabinet then ‘struggle’ to attach it to the door

I been trying to replace mine for half an hour. Then removed another one to check if if there was a difference. Now I'm stuck with 2 not installed.

I just added 2 of these but unfortunately there is no adjustment on closing speed unlike my newer cabinets.

Wow - thank you! Ours popped off the day we listed our home for sale and I thought it had broken. Watched your video for 30 sec, popped it back in and presto - all good!

I had some that would not fit back - lightly tap the tow protruding lugs which fit into the hole inward to bend them slightly and they will then fit as shown in video.

I had to bend the “spring clip” with pliers before mine would reattach. Accidentally knocked it off taking something out of the cupboard. It would not click back in easily. :(

Sorry, but mine are exactly the same brand and don't go on anything like this easily. This has made me want to kill somebody. Why can't they make it easier than this? It's a sucky design to cause this much trauma!

I have the same close mechanism. It fell off so I followed your directions and put it back on. What is the reason the door does not soft close?

If it wont fit, it is likely to be the small spring that wants pushing back. Also, make sure the 2 metal tabs are both straight

mine does not go on that easily! it popped off and I can't get it back on :(

I don't know if mine were bent but had to use a small pointy screwdriver to hold the rounded front clip back and push it in. Make a satisfying click when it went in.

If it falls off I'm going to burn it with all the fire.

TIP - If the metal spring piece just won't stay forward, take a small screwdriver and put it forwards AS you are fitting it - literally push it into the hole and you push the unit into place.

It's not that simple. It doesn't just pop on simply. It is nothing like the ease with this guy does it. It never goes on like this.
