Nice video but you forget the Lady - Airwolf! - which can exceed Mach1 to 65,000 feet (fact).

Mi26? Technically it works, but it is BS. She is a heavy lift bird, so has sh*t-tons of power. When she is empty, that power can make speed instead of lifting loads.. But every time you fly her empty you are losing money. If you are not moving equipment A->B (or lifting logs, etc), you are not making money. And she is very expensive to operate. Luckily for taxpayers, don't believe Hollywood as the same is true for the military; if the asset is not functionally and demonstrably aiding missions, then budgets are difficult to justify (i.e.this does not happen. much.). The one exception is rescue, where being overpowered and fast is a virtue, but that seems not to be her given task (although the company does suggest it... but who has ever actually seen that application). She is awesome, and can be fast, but that is not her role and rarely plays out. Sorry, just feeling a bit pedantic tonight.

What about the French Gazelle helicopter was the fastest heli for a long time.

Everything faster than the Lynx isn't really a helicopter. The reason no real helicopter went faster is that the tips of the blades on the Lynx were a gnat's whisker away from going supersonic.
