Great review! And I share your opinion. Allthough it's over 4 years old, the GH5s still is king in my opinion. I have both the GH5 and the GH5s, and they supplement each other very nice depending on the scene and situation. The ease of having the same lenses, batteries, customisation of buttons etc for both just makes it a nice eco system to work in. Also easy to match the cameras in post.

Super super review i think out off many reviews i have seen bloom caleb pike etc etc you are the only person who has mentioned you can check the luts on the screen thats cool.....i was never aware of this....your shots are crystal clear and your review style is practical and thorough......very very good thanks for shooting this.....

I am intending on purchasing the Panasonic GH5S and was wondering if it had a neutral profile on it, as I would use that when I colour grade my film footage.

The comparison to the G9 was very good, for sharpness of video. I am still learning more everyday about the G9, wth the latest firmware update teh High definition large file mode for photos works great, especially the feature to help with moving subjects in the image.

I am considering buying the Panasonic GH5s over the Panasonic GH5. The thing is would it be ok to edit ULTRA HD 10bit and 8bit footage on a core i5 laptop granted it might take longer to edit. But if I film in only ULTRA 8bit 422 it should be ok until I get amore powerful laptop. I will be using the free davinci resolve. Please reply back.

Have you used the H.265 mode? 4K at 72mbps. I was wondering how that would hold up against normal 4k 150mbps h.264?

Forgive this question from someone new to this technology: the wipe that goes from flat-looking footage to footage with great contrast and color, is that showing original footage shot with this camera wiping to footage that was color-corrected in post? Thank you for this great review!

For some reason, the first 12 frames of my video clips have artifacting and banding in them, and then the artifacting fades away. I've been shooting in 8bit cine D and vlog, hd and 4k. It always does the same thing. And I'm using a v30 95mbs sd card which is compatible. Did I get a defective unit?

That lack of IBIS is a deal breaker unfortunately. Lots of my shots will be handheld and that was awful shaking.

The GH5s is awesome. I have owned it for just over 1 year now and love that multi aspect ratio sensor. It's low light performance is incredible.

Ok so i found when shooting VFR mode(100fps+) in vlog on gh5s, only use iso: 1250,1600 and 2000. If you want to shoot cina D only use iso:640,800 and 1000. If your using the normal profiles dont go below 640 to avoid those nasty horizontal noise.

Hello, may I ask what LUT you used to grade the V-log footage and if you did any further color grading beyond the LUT (on the V-log 10bit DCI river shot for instance)? Thank you.

On the GH5s when I have it set to manual ISO i.e iso 6400 and when I start filming the display shows ISO A (Auto). Why is this?
