Currently is a monolith mean saying is that in the code it says it multiplies your population by one meaning that currently it doesn’t do anything

So I put a monolith down today and when I checked back in on it my dwarves suddenly had 4 more monoliths around it I wonder if it’s going to create some religious zealots in the future. Also all my dwarves suddenly got the wise trait. At least the ones that go to it.

in 2001 space odyssey the monolith that is in the beginning is a sign of evolution. its why the monkeys turned into humans that travel space. so maybe the monolith will be a thing that helps humans evolve into a more advanced civilization 🤔

It would be cool if in the next world box update they would add messiahs and prophets that could be selected as a trait or as it’s own unit and they would create religions for you the creator.

Fun fact: if you hit the monolith with the walking houses power, it actually starts walking around killing people.

It increases population growth by 1x for nearby villages (nothing)

Increases the population rate of a village it is in by x1 (it does nothing). There is a month in this game called Monolith which is comparable to the month of April.5 days ago

Ok why the f*ck does Google love being a bad source for me.
It said that placing down the monolith would make a monolith size which is made out of titanic-sized squares.

After seeing comments, my conclusion is:
It makes a lot of weird/useless things

i think the monolith is just a reference to that monolith that appeared in the desert irl and the devs are just trolling with it (commenting before watching the vid)

And also the monolith can make a light in night

my guess was that it increases their culture progression, but just a guess

the monolith is probably an april fools joke because in the game april is named monolith and it came out around april

the monolith might be a 2001: a space odyssey easter egg of sorts as the "flocking" people over to it is from the opening scene in the movie

It’s just kinda like a tourist attraction I love it!

It caused people to have madness in my game after a little time, probably why it’s outline is red on its image too. Not everyone would go mad but a decent amount.

It was a new game, age of hope. About 15 mins into the new world I put one in each country on the map. The dwarves didn’t take long before 20 of their population went mad, the elves were next up but not as many turned. I never saw how it affected my humans and orcs however but the orcs went mad at some point I know for a fact, ended up burning their whole kingdom down.

(I mean I just assume it was the monolith since madness spread so much and was always happening near monoliths, maybe just bad luck with random event generator that comes with the base game)

I assumed the monolith might be some type of religious feature in the future, I think there's a temple technology that exists but I don't know if temples actually do anything, I think in the future religion might be a thing and monoliths might serve as like holy sites on map and it attracts the people to fight over them similar to how a zombie might be attracted to the brain mechanic. It might also grant status effects or buffs if they control them I imagine.

That's my theory at least on what it might be for

I wish to add the daily night and day feature, and add the male and female feature so that the king and queen can be differentiated, and also add the feature of a wedding ceremony between kingdoms or inside the kingdom, when there is an event that will affect the kingdom
