Of course, it's the show's creators' job to come up with drama. but in real life it's called meanness. the fact that in that episode they decided not to tell House that he was right. because he is a genius and they are not.

Unfortunately for the series, week after week, nobody believes House, then he proves himself right. Somehow, i get the impression that there was a greatly missed part of the program. How many times did did House get it wrong (obviously, a lot, it seems) to cause the recurring, everlasting, doubt that House can ever be right.

No PPE, OSHA would not be happy.

This was the scene that House never really recovered from, because no one told him he was right. Wilson told Cuddy not to tell House he was right to teach House a lesson in humility & being wrong. House spiralled out of control, taking more drugs & second guessing himself. The path to his self destruction & frame of mind. In my opinion House's mental health was frail at best before this, after... Wilson made one of the worst decisions for his best friend, & it cost him dearly later on in the show.

Every time I see this clip I can’t help but think that after so long he probably shouldn’t be able to walk due to his leg muscles atrophying.

Number one they would NEVER allow him to attempt to stand etc. like that so abruptly after his condition. But it does make serious drama.

People think difficult or awkward people like House are problematic and they are problematic. However, its their social awkwardness that is often the reason why they live, eat, breath their expertise. Like the autistic savante...they are deficient on some areas of life and genius's in others. Its why people should ignore actors, athletes, celebrities etc. Just because they are masterful singers in their field does not make them equally as masterful in other areas of their life...infact...its often why their personal lives are so often messed up. Whether it is god, genetics, fate, the win of the lottery in human development...it is human nature...for those who find they have some gift or talent or skill or passion and they pursue it. Its not necessarily that their stupid in other areas of their life. It could be as easy as they ignore all the other areas of their life and ride along getting by on their natural abilities. Its like the girl who is told she is beautiful and she never develops the rest of her...because her beauty gets her everything she wants...she doesnt need to be street smart (someone will take care of her), she doesnt need an education (someone will take care of her), etc. As is always the case...the wheel of fortune turns...and very often those naturally born gifts arent enough and when that happens your vulnerable.
