I still play every week. This is the one game I know well. It's not just a game it's a place I visit and have fun.
The best game ever.
I would love to play it in vr

I found the X360 version in a charity shop a few days ago and bought it together with two dvd movies. I paid a total of 20 SEK (about $3 AUD, or slightly below $2 USD), which I thought was a pretty good deal for two movies and a quality game. The racing will probably be way too fast for my snail-like reflexes, but at such a small cost I'm sure it will be difficult not to get my money's worth of enjoyment.

Fun Fact: burnout paradise was the first game to have advertisements on in game billboards

Game's alright in my opinion, but Criterion's early NFS games are better open world Burnout games than this one (Like Hot Pursiot 2010 and Most Wanted 2012)

This game I believe was ahead of what time it launched in. It nailed the arcade thrill, easy to start hard to master driving mechanics and the map felt busy enough, but small enough you could get from one of the map to the next quickly depending on your car of course. I put so much time into the online side of this, rather than jumping on COD me and my mates would actually itch to get home to play Burnout just to drive around and see what non-scripted events we could get into with other players. I remember getting irritated with a crash happy played so I did the infamous invulnerability glitch and got in my F1 car and toyed with him for an hour, until he finally got the monster truck out and watch as he barrelled into me and wreaked himself for another 30 mins. Learning the spin physics in the Hawker when hitting a wall at the right speed to get insane free-roam stun scores and top of the leaderboard with the most spins, it was oddly addictive.

I also remember doing all the events, all the speed records on all the streets and all the crash records on each street to get the Platinum pain. But you got something amazing for doing some of the more tedious things like 120 Billboards got you the amazing Carbon Hawker. Even the Carbon GT was amazing until they nerfed the speed to make the GT Nighthawk better. Whilst that last part is a sour note it was a great example of gameplay and mechanics rewarded with exclusive content. I bet if BP was made today you'd just get an achievement for doing 400 Smashed Gates and the GT Concept would be part of the "Carbon Bundle Pack"

With that said though the pack cars that did arrive all offered something amazing and worthwhile with exception of the Paradise Bikes pack. It should've been great but the bikes handed like those toy bikes that you pull back and have the side stabiliser wheels on. I also wasn't huge on the toy cars, it somewhat broke my personal immersion into the game similar to how Forza has the Lego thing. I just don't interact with it as it's not for me. Outside of those two, the free boostless cars were amazing, the Legendary Cars pack was iconic, Boost Special Cars gave you the incredibly hard to master, but when you did you ruled the roads and the Cop cars added a new fun classic game-mode into online with some RP. The big Surf island was fun to explore it didn't add much in the grand scheme of things but If I recall the DLC was well priced from memory, I felt the buggies were not all that fun to use though appreciated they didn't stat-pad them but on reflection maybe a little disappointing DLC overall but I remember just enjoying it as an extension of the base map.

What about burnout dominator that was before this one. Revenge is my favorite and understand dominator was lacking but I'd like to see ur review on it and others maybe.

I’m playing this game right now. I’m not going to lie it’s just not what I’m used to for this series. It’s very annoying to see races be more free when I’m so use to the arcade look of the games. It’s cool it has some love but I wish Criterion Remastered 3 Takedown or even try to bring back 1 and 2.

This is the kind of game that will really work on your mental reflexes which is pretty good for real life situations
