85 close shot is only a 3% difference from 25 verses yellow contest, shit is wicked

whats the point of doing this test only with timing off? this is such a lazy test and not gonna lie. this might be the worst year of 2klab content creation

I think when you do these you should also factor in the badges that you unlock at those ratings in the test. In this one for example I would say relentless finisher for one because in game that would effect it

Close shot has always been a super valuable stat but the problem is 90% of the community does not play in a way that would ever utilize it which is why most people think it’s pointless. I can’t count how many game-winning hook shots. I’ve hit on a 64 guard because I know the person guarding me has no interior defense. I’ve literally hit over 100 game winners on hook shots from the guard position. It’s almost unstoppable and if you wait for the game-winning shot to do it, the guard literally never expects it to happen

Why would you test it with no timing that makes no sense at all. The real test is with timing.

Bad test, you only recorded shots with yellow contest. The close shit rating according to make wang lowers the contest percentage. So it's harder to get a contest when close shot is higher.

I had a 70 close shot last year and could never make contested putbacks with my big, this year I have a 95 close shot and make contested putbacks all the time.

Boy I got a 6’10 Durant build 99 close shot when I’m missing middys and threes I make it up w the 99 close I average 24.4 in the rec as of today

I have a build with high close shot and high strength and unless the defender blocks my shot its almost a guaranteed bucket no matter how much they contest.

Feel like timing on needs to be considered too tho. Have one build with high close shot and that green window is definitely way bigger on close shots

This test is flawed AF. Have a 92 Close shot and a 73 close shot big. That green window for the 92 is insane on some close shots. No way this test took into consideration badges or anything. If you are going to be in around the rim trying to score, if def go high as you can.

I'm sorry, usually love the content. But this is kinda a lazy close shot test. We need test with timing, more contest, and test to see if higher close shot gets better animations. My pf with 60 close shot feels like I can never take it up strong like my centre with 86 close shot.

hook shots and post fades? close shots is for anything 4 feet to about the free throw line.

Not sure how this test was made but I see bigs who make most of their contested shots in the paint.
My big barely makes contested shots in the paint unless I’m open.
My big has 40% close shot. He also has no post control. I sacrificed those for mid range and pass accuracy.
His only way to score in the paint is through dunks.

Smh shit is an absolute joke of a basketball game just to cater to that 5 out play style they made inside scorering inefficient even when people dont have the build on the court to stop them , do a test on masher i have hof only take smart shoots with timing on im missing at 7"3 agaist 7ft & smaller because even after a successful post move they spam y with no foul & get 7 to 20% late contest & i miss with hof masher with a 99 post which is why i dont even play on my post anymore at all

Close shot is trash even I have fearless finisher on Gold on my build it’s still doesn’t do anything when I take a close shot green window is not there or is so small. And I’m talking about dudes with low interior defense close shot doesn’t matter in this game wish I would have save my points on something else. Height and wingspan matters for close shot which im 6’8 close shot is trash for shorter builds

Disagree with this one. Close shot seems to just put you in better position for those standing layups. I got two bigs and definitely feel the difference when I play the one with higher CS.

What close shot does do is make your green window bigger for open close shots, also improves your hook shot rating, and height matters also, a 7'3 build with 99 close shot will do better then a 6'9 with that same rating, a 7'3 with 99 close shot and max strength should be unstoppable in the paint but interior defense is OP itself, 6'5 and smaller skinny guards shouldn't be able to stop much of anything in the paint but they can

My lock has a 25 close shot and i cant make shit if someone is a eyelash beside me. I have to be WIDE open to make a close shot underneath the basket.

98 gets fast twitch hof. Should’ve went all the way up. Also better fast twitch comes with higher close shot attribute. I don’t believe y’all fast twitch test bc I have a build with no fast twitch and one with it on HoF and the difference is quite noticeable. Also the off-ball steal test y’all did is off as well. 25 steal animation can take like 5 seconds whilst 99 steal is mostly an instant swipe. Rethink the way y’all do badge tests. Take the builds to private pro-am and perform tests there with people willing to assist.. Y’all have a decent following and maybe getting the community involved in some tests is worth it.

The higher the Close shot the lower the shot contest. The fact that this test was based on Yellow contest makes the test not accurate. Same when they say Anchor affects Block more that hands up defense then they release the stats for Anchor based on Hands up defense. If youre a real bigman you know. 😊

This is the dumbest part of 2k. If I'm 7'1 I have to take contested shots. That's how the paint works in real life. Especially in mismatches. I should be hammering dunks and making easy standing lays over the 6'8 "center" who is faster and can shoot the 3. They shouldnt be able to defend my post moves, contest my shots, be faster, dunk, shoot, and defend the perimeter. Does 2k just want no paint defenders and rebounders? I have high close shot and standing dunk but it feels like a waste of attribute points. And you cant even do shot timing well bc some are instant animations and some take forever unlike dunks and running layups which have more clear release timings. 2k doesnt care about bigs and until they do they arent getting any more of my money
