I bought it, and it did NOT work very well for me. I unplugged it and got rid of it.

Hi please I have a question I just upgrade mi isp speed to 1gb, with wire cable I have around 800 to 900 mb, I have a unifi USG, UniFi Poe switch, and a UAP-AC-LR if I make I speed test in an iPhone X what numbers I supposed to see, I want to use all the speed I am paying for, if I need to replace my actual AP which one you can recommend me thanks for your time

@Crosstalk Solutions Can you select which radio is used for the wireless uplink? Say, if I wanted to use the 2.4 GHz radio exclusively for the uplink, and the 5 GHz radio only for the WLAN...

i have a mesh with ap-ac-pro. so i can just run cable one day without replacying the ap

Nice review. I ordered one of these Sunday (to pair with my UDM that can’t quite cover the whole house). Unfortunately, my order is still sitting there “unfulfilled”. Hoping it ships soon.

I’ve been using the beacon for a while now. It’s solid and best way to extend your coverage if you use UniFi AP at home.

I have one of these "meshed" with a NanoHD, but find that the 5Ghz band is also being used as backhaul. So speeds are about 1/2 when I connect to the Beacon vs the NanoHD. This is more of a "repeater" than a "mesh" due to lack of dedicated backhaul, in my experience. Still helps bring Wifi into low-signal areas, but at half the throughput.

Received the EU (Unifi 6 Extender) version today, updated the controller to 6.0.23, does not show up. Contacted Ubiquity, they said they can not support because it’s an Early Access product and referred me to the EA community 😢

Yes there is the Extender 6 for Europe in EA atm ;)

Can you turn off the backlit LED ring? If this was deployed in a bedroom for a home user I could see wanting to turn off the LED ring.

Thanks to your video, I decided to buy the BeaconHd directly from Ubiquiti
2 weeks later even with Ubiquiti’s tech support, I couldn’t get it to work on my 3 year old ubiquiti system. I had all the latest access points,cloud key gen2 and latest firmware, but the beaconhd was always stuck on adopting wireless.
Ubiquiti’s tech support than suggested I do an RMA to return it.
This product is just not ready for prime time, unlike previous Ubiquiti devices. This is definitely the first negative experience, I have had with a Ubiquiti device.
I am not alone in having issues with it.
Use caution when considering this device.

Quick question about the beacon set up, do you keep them on the same channels as the uplink or do you separate them?

This is a great product better than those knock off wifi range extenders, i have mine connected to a FlexHD and it works like a charm

Garbage in, garbage out. Why was it never mentioned to put this in the middle point of the device that has poor coverage and the AP it is connected to?

Is it possible to only allow certain SSIDs on the beacon so you don’t have clients potentially choosing it when they could chose the AP in house?

By adding one of these does it take away from the maximum throughput for clients still connected to your primary AP such as your nanoHD? I’m worried about weather this will slow down my existing clients on the AP it will uplink/mesh with. Also can I limit which SSIDs are advertised off of it? Basically I just want my security cameras connecting to it.

Do you think orientation would impact the performance dramatically? I don’t want to rotate the outlet.

Can you add one of these so it only extends a Guest network? Looking to install this system in my restaurant. Don't want it to pick up other "in house" wifi for music streaming, etc.

BeaconHD is listed as "Coming Soon" on 4Gon who is one of the main distributors in the UK. So yeah, they are rolling them out on this side of the pond.

Can this device be used without any other UniFi equipment? Can it be set up alone and used as a network extender / access point?

I just picked up 2 of these beacons to fill in some dead spots in the meantime(eventually I plan on running cat 6 throughout my house). They are super easy to setup and serve as a nice hallway nightlight (a nice surprise). I did end up having to switch out my face plate with the one provided in the box because the one I had on the wall previously was too large.

It doesn't work with the EATON screwless plates !

Hello friend, very good your video. I bought a beacon there in America, and brought it to Brazil, but it doesn't appear on my controller for adoption, could you tell me what I need to do for it to appear?. Because the led is in pairing status.

Moving into a new house - about 2000 sq ft. Would this, paired with the Dream Machine capsule, be a nice set up? I'm trying to stay away from the all in one mesh wifi systems like Orbi or Google. Thanks!

Hello, I got a wifi extender ap beacon hd, but the app doesn’t see the device. Also I have 2 ap lite running itself, so I gonna need a controller to add the beacon to my system?

Dude what the heck!! Every time there is something you are not allowed to talk about. It is really annoying! If you are not allowed to talk about it then why are you making a video about it? This is like a third video with the same story, “I’m not allowed to talk about”

I have my I6 Lite set up down stairs in the basement and just set up my beacon HD in the living room. Our cell phones are getting picked up but my smart TV is not. It’s still only being picked up from the U6 lite access point .

Is there anyway to ensure it gets found by the beachHD?
