I would like to know the dates of travel, so I know what month it is, whether things are affected by covid, etc. Enjoy watching your videos. Thanks!
ОтветитьIf I were with my wife in a roomette I don`t think I would use the in room toilet like Oh don`t mind me! BUT, having a roomette is a plus for both of us regardless and Amtrak has done a fantastic job of updating the older roomettes.
Ответитьis sleeping on the floor an option?
ОтветитьI remember, so well, when trying to walk from the roomette to anywhere, that the train's rocking motion made me feel as though I was on board a ship!!
ОтветитьIm gathering Amtrack is very mediocre way of travelling... maybe the owners and staff need to travel on some of the better trains around the world to see how its supposed to be done...no yelling at customers/guests to get out!! I wonder if that staffer still has her job, not if I had been there for sure. I dont tolerate rudeness nor should her employers. Loved the way the breakfast boxes sat on the toilet all night or seemed to anyway :)
ОтветитьAMTRAK NORTHEAST REGIONAL TRAIN
ОтветитьJeb you and Susan should try the Alaska marine highway from Bellingham WA North. I'm from Sitka Alaska, so there you go. You two are my Fav.
ОтветитьI have been to trains in Germany ...and they are like Smoooooooth.
ОтветитьCan I pay for roommate if I travel alone? Doesn't matter share with other strange ?
ОтветитьWashington seems full of Rats 🐀
ОтветитьYoooooooo amtrak night owl!!
ОтветитьYou can't put lipstick on Acella.. it still a pig at that $
ОтветитьAmtrak sucks. Bad food, bad employees, bad timing. Treated like cattle. As bad as flying can be, I would take it any day of the week
ОтветитьThe Dubliner is my favorite DC restaurant! So fun you randomly chose that spot. Very convenient to Union Station!
ОтветитьWhat!!! 10 hours from Washington DC to Boston!!!! Really? America, wake up!!!! You really need highspeed rail! The distance from Washington DC to Massachusetts is 438 miles. That's between 7 and 8 hours by car. Reaching speeds of up to 240 pluss mph, a bullet train would get you there in 2 hours or less. Wow!! Amtrak truly is slow and lethargic. Highspeed bullet trains and maglev super train technology, the new american dream....
ОтветитьLavatory in the cabin...EWWW😣
Imagine your room getting full of potty smell. Now you have to eat there. Sleep there. EWWW😵
Your neighbours going poops and peeps and the smell travels to your cabin...EWWW
The most disgusting train design i have ever seen.
Love Suzanne. Want to see more of her.
ОтветитьJesus Christ, those alcohol prices are nuts. If I ever get a room on an Amtrak train, I’m bringing my own bourbon 😂
ОтветитьThanks for making these awesome videos
ОтветитьYou mention the lack of showers several times. Most dermatologists recommend taking no more than 3 showers a week. I would not think on a short trip like this that lack of showers would present a problem. Like your videos BTW.
ОтветитьNow im addicted to train video. Especially usa. Best scenery ever. Da mn it
ОтветитьShould have took Metro from the airport dry the whole trip.
ОтветитьJeb i like traveling on Amtrak had good times not so good times i have met nice crew while aboard i even had chance too meet the chief of on board services on a trip from philadelphia pa too providence ri he was nice too me whole time on board and he bought me lunch in cafe car
ОтветитьSomething nostalgic about the old name 'Night Owl' as it was known when Amtrak named all their trains. It makes me think of a train passing through the foggy darkness of Connecticut in the middle of the night being guided by the solitary headlight of an ex-NYNHH FL-9 locomotive.
As of now, Amtrak isn't using the Viewliner sleepers on the 66/67 trains. I'm guessing because of a shortage of needed sleepers on other trains or they are being refurbished. .
You felt jet lagged after a ride on a train, that is the life that railroad workers live everyday.
ОтветитьEarplugs might help you sleep.
Ответитьidiot let the cute gurl choose
ОтветитьNever forget what Ricky Roma said.
ОтветитьHow did her iPad fall on you when you were in the upper bunk?
ОтветитьNo matter I love taking trains
ОтветитьIt's a typical Amtrak menu. I don't know for sure but if I had to choose, I might expect the hummus to be the nicest snack.
ОтветитьWow. Even the couchettes on night trains in Europe look better than that. Also I have no idea who thought putting a toilet in there next to the bunks was a good idea. Like c'mon common toilets are better than that. I mean idk if you've ever travelled across Europe on a sleeper train but if I'd reccomend one for a good couchette experience I'd say the Berlin Night Express between Berlin and Copenhagen/Malmö which runs in the summer half of the year. Its al all couchette train with a single seater carriage but a good service
Also like I'm surprised to see desserts like muffins served as breakfast.
To use the toilet in the old Viewliners, one party usually steps outside the Roomette. The newer Viewliners do not have the in-roomette toilets. There are a few at the end of the car for use by all.
ОтветитьI like the roomettes. California Zephyr doesn't have in room toilets or space for two suitcases. I would have considered this lucky - although we do have car toilets, coffee, and water all time. My husband and I don't find it uncomfortable.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing your experience!
ОтветитьWhen we moved from NYC to the Bay Area we did a similar thing. Our POD was going to take a week to arrive, California hotels are expensive so we figured the train would be a nice adventure. We travelled via the California Zephyr, three of us in a room. Was tight but not uncomfortable. Enjoyed meeting people in the dining room (most times we had a extra person added to our table). We love meeting new people
ОтветитьI used to love that overnighter thirty years ago.
ОтветитьJeb, is there anyway of knowing what side of the sleeper car the booked Roomette will be on? For obvious reasons…
ОтветитьI travel from Chicago to Tucson in a Roomette. It was fine for one person. It was so tight that once the attendant made my bed I couldn’t move at all. It was better than sitting in a chair on the train. I would definitely do it again. More pluses than minus.
ОтветитьIs suzanne in facebook
ОтветитьI just did this train....in COACH. With a kid playing video games with no earphones all night long on the trip up.... and then the trip back 2 small children banging the seat and asking the pointless kid questions... do not recommend. Well, in coach. I would take the issues in a roomette anyday!!
ОтветитьSri Lanka got some excellent railway tracks with very scenic journeys on Sri Lanka railway map. Should do a documentary there.
ОтветитьIn every video you talk showers a lot. It was an overnight trip. How many showers do you normally take in a 24 hour period? Unless you have a medical condition one is normally sufficient. Not trying to be mean just curious.
ОтветитьI’ve slept in a roomette and in a passenger seat they both have advantage and disadvantages. The roomette yes a travel pillow of one’s choosing would be nice. The old roomette with toilet I’ve used, but yes it feels strange. The new roomette you would have the “real toilet down the hall much better idea! Passenger seat you sleep barber chair style, not bad. It’s the DVD players with movies that aren’t fun. Roomette access to dining car, for breakfast trust me in 10 minutes I’ll be up for hot tea and food 😉
ОтветитьTrains do go "choo-choo"
ОтветитьIs it safe to drop off your suitcase?
ОтветитьDoes Amtrak have trains 🚃 that can hold a handicapped person, plus that weigh over 400 pounds? Please help I want to go to Philadelphia from West Palm Beach
ОтветитьI take the Northeast Regional all the time from Petersburg to DC except in coach. It’s a nice train. Lots of legroom in the coach seats which is perfect for our 3 hour ride. We always pack a lunch too. The staff is always so friendly.
Ответить8 hours of uninterrupted sleep------ that's nuthin. A union pacific thru freight conductor on a long pool run can get 12 hours. Ain't that right Buddy Koenig ???
ОтветитьI love the blankets in the roomettes and bedrooms!
Ответить
