I don't even understand the idea of Hitler obsession with Stalingrad. He could have simply captured Caucasus region and starved Russia of its oil amd could have used Russian Oil repair their machines and then attack Moscow and crush their enemy fully. Simply flawed plan of Hitler has costed Germany.

Say what you will about the Soviets and Russia but had they not stood their ground, Germany would have lasted far longer than it did. The Slavic Peoples if they lost would have been exterminated. That was Hitler's dream. They stood up against that evil despite Stalin being just as nuts if not slightly more nuts. The Slavs had far more lose than the US and UK.

this confirmed itself as yet another valor stealing western propaganda parrot by saying stalingrad was a important link in lend lease supply . in reality by stalingrad battle lend lease has barely begun . all of the lend lease up to kursk (that is more than 1 year after case blue began) could fit 1 modern bulk carrier ship, or handful of average cargo ships of period. after kursk germans were on the run .

Wouldn’t some of Gangis battles be more deadly? Or the crusade wars? Since the population was way less back then.
