i did it but there is no internet connection on the 2nd router

could you please help me with this? I have the tenda 300N range extender. I have an existing external wifi that works with wifi dongle. I have set it up with that wifi. when I connect to tenda it stays connected if I am just using my computer, as soon as I connect my phone or tablet it loses signal completely. I then unplug it and plug back in and it will stay connected for a couple of minutes. it is set up as a repeater. could you help me please?

This video is very vague and lacking information such as,is this a wireless repeater ? Is this a wireless extender ? I bought one of these Tenda devices and this video has not helped at all.
