I see so many people mess up sealing so I'm going to teach everyone to speed seal real quick.
Click to place the twig but continue holding. Don't release.
While still holding fire, tap your hammer buttong then tap > aim aim aim aim
If you do this right, you can put up a metal wall in less than 1 second.

The only bad part to this is that you do go through wood and stone this way b/c your spam upgradding.
However, this tradeoff is infinitely faster than placing > releasing mouse > switching to hammer > clicking and holding down aim > moving to the right upgrade material > clicking.

Again: Equip plans > click and hold to place twig > while holding fire tap hammer then aim repeatedly.
