So, in this anime, whenever someone asks Anya what her dad does for a living, she starts to say "spy" then changes it to something else that begins with a "sp" sound. Like, "spectacular heart doctor." At least, that's what happens in the English subtitles. How is this handled in other languages where "spy" and "spectacular" might not start with the same sound?

What do they do for the English dub? Is it like a dattebayo situation?

Everything is better than the English. 🤦‍♀️ But the last two and the Japanese were soo cute. Really captured Anya's cuteness essence.

Anya's German, FYI. Anya is from Ostania which is based on East Germany. So she is German, alternatively she could be Russian. So either German or Russian or perhaps even Polish could be her ethnicity.
