We have been waiting for this forever. Many people use premiere to make it easy for social media content. This makes life easier. Is there an easy way to add the highlight to the text that is being said?

is this possible on a different previous version in any way?

Sadly now we can't transcribe a section of a sequence but the complete audio files from the project panel

I just wish they'd release a feature that auto-highlights text as it's spoken. It does it in the transcription window, so I don't know why they can't create an effect to add to the graphics layer!

Learning how to incorporate captions has been on my to-do list for a while now. You made this a lot faster/easier than anticipated!
Thank you, man. Def gonna check out the next video (recommended at the end) AND take a look at Motion Array's Bounce Transitions. Those look really nice.


Problem & Solution:
Ran into one (1) issue....but, full disclosure, I need to update Pr Pro to latest version...but, I'm mid-project...never a good time to update.
When selecting the check-box for In/Out points, the blue "Transcribe" button became un-clickable (the bright button gets dim...if that makes sense).

Solution:
Created new sequence, adjusted sequence settings (per usual), and pasted everything needed onto new timeline/sequence. Then there was no need to click the check-box for "Transcribe in point to out point only." The "Transcribe" button remained click-able. Down the road motors...

How do you get it yo do one word at a time?

For it does not say "Upgrade caption to graphic" but instead says "Upgrade Source to Graphic" and it does not let me change my captions to graphics. Does anyone know why?

Great tip, but it doesn't change the bounding box or save that for me, so the area that is chosen stays the same and I have to go back and individually do every bounding box to make them stay in the right area...AUUUUUGH. Still better than manually typing, but having to go back and manually change the text box dimenstions and location on each one...come on, Premiere. I hope I'm just missing something.

Unfortunately, there is no option in my premiere pro 2023 to upgrade caption to graphics under the tab of graphics and titles.

Great video! I have a question, do created styles not save the alignment or positioning properties? Every time I align center, reposition my converted captions the way I like them the SAVED STYLE defaults to a set alignment. Not sure what Im doing incorrectly. Appreciate the clarity from the community!

EDIT: Using Luis Gustavo's quick tip, I struggled through. I needed to align and transform to the properties I wanted after generating the captions, save the preset text style, and then upgrade captions to graphic, apply style to graphics. If this is incorrect please let us know. Im putting this down and going outside for a sec

Hey - I do the same steps as you but when i go into the graphics menu after having my subtitle line selected it's greyed out. And upgrade caption to graphic isn't even there. only a greyed out upgrade to source graphic. I've done the most recent update in CC so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Can you please help?

Great stuff...but you're losing the ability to actually caption (closed caption) with that text to graphic transition, correct? It's a great feature for subtitling though.
