The Hunger Games (2012) Movie REACTION!!

It's always insane to think that Cato's death was more brutal in the books. Basically being chewed on for the entire night thanks to his special armor before Katniss shot him is hectic.

Just as a perception of trauma the way this is played out is so intense and so like real from Katniss her complex PTSD is just kinda horrific to watch.

I’m late to this reaction but this is one of my favorite trilogy’s. The books are even better. Catching fire will forever have a special place in my heart 💘

The countdown messed me up in the theatre... I was pissing myself. I was about 18 years old when I saw this movie... little did I know it was about a North Korea bidding their children to fight to the death. I was having a panic attack at the cinema when the countdown began... and then the silence... slowly turned into a festival of death. Children!!!!!! I seriously couldn't handle myself during that scene. Nightmarish. I was so immersed in the movie that my little I disappeared completely into the picture. Damn this movie!! Hunger Games... what a silly title I thought... I went to the cinema with zero expectation.... came out all palid and colorless due to the fear.

Now that the prequel film to the hunger games series is out, The Ballads of the Songbirds and Snake is out, when it comes out you should react to it!

These books were so much more graphic especially the first 1. However they were so amazing the movies were good too 😊

Yeah Rue’s death is literally HEARTBREAKING

Ok, a few clarifications from the books. 1. the three-finger salute is a sign of respect generally used for a loved one in the lower sectors (10-12). 2. The bread. Peeta and Katniss were both 12 at the time and Katniss was on the brink of death. Her father had died in a coal mining accident and her mother regressed into a mental state so deep that she was like a zombie, where Katniss had to trade stuff to get food and take care of her sister. That winter was especially cold and she was going to freeze and die of hunger cause sadly a kid from The Seam (where she's from) dying from starvation is not that uncommon. Peeta purposely burned the edges of the bread so he could give it to her. That was so bad that he came to school the next day with a black eye his mother had given him for burning the bread. That little food gave Katniss the strength necessary to go to hunt the next day and how she was ultimately saved. That's why she feels a sort of inexplicable loyalty to him (a little favor like that in District 12 goes a long way). 3. Peeta is actually camouflaged in mud, making it a bit more realistic.

Rue’s death still makes me cry after all these years. She probably was longing for her mother 😭 so she asked Katniss to sing to give her that comfort.

When you said “I don’t like kids crying.” In the beginning I was like “oh no”😭

The sad thing about Haymitch is that Snow killed his mom brother and girlfriend when he won his game by using the force field to his advantage.

If you wanna see a great Jennifer Lawrence movie, check out Winter's Bone. Hardcore, scrapple Appalachian folks. It's a really good movie. Even if you don't do it for the channel, do it for yourself. You won't regret it.

I can't remember if it's confirmed in the books that the guy in 11 after Rue’s death was his dad, but I like to believe it was.

Cato’s death is so much more brutal in the book. When he gets thrown into the mutts, he keeps himself alive through sheer force and will. The pain is unbearable but he can’t die because of some advanced body armor. ONE DAY passes and he still is alive, moaning in pain. Katniss finally decides to put him out of his misery.

Effie is my fave character here. Elizabeth Banks did an exactly portrayal from the books. ❤

In the book when the little girl died, katniss buried her and flowers.

As a contestant, if you got the nickname "girl on fire", you should expect a good gamemaker to try to light you on fire in the arena. Easy crowdpleaser - you can imagine the bad jokes at work or on late night tv in the capital after that.

In my opinion, this movie opened a lot of eyes to Jennifers acting abilities. Definitely a must watch series. I hope this keeps going movie by movie. Nice Post to you BOTH.

Haymitch in the books actually revoluted as the last survivor in his game and The Capitol killed his little brother, mother and girlfriend 2 weeks later as punishments. Thats why he drinks so much.

Fun fact: the battle royale genre in games was inspired by The Hunger Games. The first of the genre being a mod for Minecraft named "Survival Games".

Battle Royal the 2000 Japanese epic from Kinji Fukasaku was the genesis for all of this. You should defo do that one.

The movie is good. I enjoyed it a lot but there was a fudge factor. The story makes sure a character you like never has to kill a character you like.

Words cannot explain how amazingly perfect Donald Sutherland was for this role as President Snow.

He absolutely nails every single line he delivers, and steals each scene he is in. Every moment of his from the books is perfectly brought to life better than I had even imagined it in my head.

The man was just an absolute master class in acting, such a great casting choice.

In the USA we skip giving kids swords and we go straight to guns.

I love that when Peeta first confesses his crush on Katniss you both think he's saying it to play the game and that it's a tactic, because in the books that's exactly what Katniss is thinking too

I love the comparison to battle royale. Its exactly like that. Almost seems like a blatant westernised rip off

As far as movies depicting dystopian futures, the Hunger Games series is top-notch.

it's a movie that never since to amaze me. it shows so much of what feels real. Because this has happened in real life, the Colosseum in Rome had this, so this happening? all too real, and with the modernisation? it's frightening and so very well done. never fails to make me cry
